Music and Movie sounds like bottom of the barrel.
by Shashank Mayya on Jul 29, 2009 04:13 AM

Rumi Jaffery is back with more crap! This is the same person who had not heard about a movie called "Bruce Almighty" and claimed God Tussi great ho was based on a folk tale...

however mediocre the songs maybe, the Hindi speaking public can only listen to such songs... i bet in whatever city you are, i am sure the radiostations would have played Billoo barber more than a say Delhi 6 or Slumdog, simply because the class of Rahman makes it difficult for the people to understand and give a patient hearing....a straight comparison - how many times was that piece of crap song Love mera khit phit from BB aired when compared to a song like Dil Gira Daftan from Delhi 6...i hope i am not misunderstood....

ARR gave tunes depending on the situation and story. If you compare RDB movie songs you would have heard it often. Even JTJN music was worth listening many times.

Couldn't agree with you more Kamal. Have to always keep a CD in my car stereo to avoid the overdose of Billoo Barber type of mediocre songs.

What else can you expect from Pritam
by bharat dureja on Jul 28, 2009 01:00 PM  | Hide replies

What else can you expect from Pritam yaar. the songs of Love Aaj kal also are stinky. Although i agree that they are hit but that is only marketting ad presentation. Himesh is anytime better than Pritam. Atleast his songs are hearable. Pritam gave us two good albums in his 8 years of session nmaely Metro and Jab We Met. That too the best song from Jab We Met "Aoge jab tum" was not his composition.

Hmm Just thought of reminding you that Pritam also gave us Race, Dhoom, Gangster, Jannat, Woh lamhe. Himesh has stopped churning hits now. agreed Pritam might copy some songs but nakal k liye bhi akal chahiye hoti hai. And as long as sthe songs r catchy and hummable, we should not complain

Hi Gautham,You are absolutely correct! Pritham knows what works & how it works for the masses. He does it flawlessly. His compositions are definitely catchy. Pritam is the only composer today who is consistent in giving hit music. All others are dried out on creativity thus, busy making money in reality shows.
