Economic Times :>
The Akshay Kumar-starrer grossed Rs 46 crore at the box office in its opening weekend with Rs 32 crore coming from the domestic box office and the rest from the overseas market, Eros International said in a statement. The film, released in about 2,000 screens world-wide, cost Rs 75 crore.

The film’s overseas collections amount to almost 30% of the total collections. This was partly because it was released in the US on one of the most popular bank holiday weekends. Total collections from the US stood at Rs 3.36 crore, while it collected Rs 1.44 crore from the UK. The box office collection from Pakistan, where 15 prints were released, stood at Rs 48 lakh.

Kambakkht Ishq continues to do well in the weekdays too with occupancy figures touching about 50%. “Akshay Kumar has a lot of fans who will want to see the film,” says Vishal Kapur, COO, Fun Cinemas.

The music of the film has done well too, according to Biren Ghose, executive director of Eros International Films which also owns the film’s music under its Eros Music label.

Pritam has once again struck gold with love aaj kal. Din cadheya has perhaps the best lyric and its a song which can make your heart move. rahat ali is best. guys just listen to the lyrics " maanga jo mera hai, jata kya tera hai, tujh se kaun si maine jannat maang li, kaisa khuda hai, bas naam ka hai, itni si bhi tera na chali " just great

Music makes the songs enjoyable
by madhesh kumar on Jul 10, 2009 08:45 PM  | Hide replies

I don't know hindi, I can't understand the meaning of the lyrics, but the music makes the songs enojoyable.
Even Pritam previous releases like Singh is King, Jab we met has a very good songs and sounds great to all the people.
He has some magic what Rahman had in his songs.
All the best to pritam.

not really.. Rahman pulls from sources that are not heard by an average indian listener, whereas Pritam makes copy from popular sources.. (search for youtube on rahman copycat and you will see where all he has pulled it from)
