Final Verdict: Mayawati statue is more entertaining than Hadippa
by exoticbronze on Sep 20, 2009 09:10 AM

Guys, This movie is a big let down! Very predictable, and other than flashes of believable acting by Rani here and there, most actors fail to deliver. The big difference between a fantastic movie and an ordinary movie is that a fantastic movie hijacks your mind, and holds you in such a thrall, that you forget you are in a theater looking at images on a screen....we are transported into that magical world of vivid imagery that the director has crafted with great wizardry. And when the movie ends, it tugs at our heartstrings, as we swiftly return to the real world and realize that we have head home.

Though 'Hadippa' ravages our mind with a mixed dose of bright colors, loud music, and feisty dancing, it fails to transport us to a different world....you grow increasingly aware that you are sitting in this theater patiently waiting for the movie to take off...but like passengers on a delayed flight sitting on the tarmac we sit fidgeting on our seats, hoping to get airborne, and be amidst the clouds, bedazzled by the lovely experience those promos and trailers had promised...but we are kept waiting. Minutes become hours, but hope doesnt translate to reality...even Rani's burst of intense and passionate dialogue delivery towards the very end fails to take us to the promised dreamland. And with the rest of a disappointed crowd, we shuffle out of the theater, silently avoiding glances of fellow movie goers heading back home...

Kaminey is a film with a number of firsts. Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra are being cast against each other for the first time and will be seen locking lips. It is said that the two shared great rapport during the making of this film which extended off the sets as well.

I don't know, when they have good scripts, why they only want stars to act in their film, like he is saying he tried to take Akshay khanna, then waited for Aamir to listen his script for 2 yrs. These actors doesn't know they are nothing without good script/production/editors/directors.... stars like aamir/shahrukh/salman/abhishek bachan, are only hype created by media, viewers in metros looking for hollywood flicks, or meaningful cinema, rather than these yashraj movies, or dostana kind of ull sh/t

Hmm, you have a point. you see, the inherited trade wisdom in Bollywood is that only a big star / glamour puss guarantees(!) a super-hit in the box office. This fallacy has been busted ad nauseum by the industry itself. Yet, the producers/directors stick to their dogma. this pretty much applies to the movie industry world-wide. Only a sensitive, thinking film-maker will choose a fresh face to launch his venture. Thus, you had freshman Amjad Khan doing a superlative Gabbar in "Sholay" & a fantastic Hrithik Roshan in "Kaho na Pyaar.."

We need to understand that when a director is visualising a movie in his mind, he actually tries to associate some actor's image wid dat of the character...it can be a star as he is familiar but the mould can be broken if a newcomer reflects the same image...so it can be Vivek Oberoi in Company as newcomer or Saif Ali Khan in Omkara!

Actually, they do. Watch Kamal Haasan's "Vetaiyadu Velliyadu" and the more recent "Yaari Di Ni Mohini". The first is a sophisticated cult flick, the second will win your heart, I promise!

sure, Saar. Just like the much vaunted tamil film "Ghajini" is an over-the-top remake of Christopher Nolan's film "The Memento" (liking the barbs, eh?)

Amole's a creative genius deserves to be appreciated
by Kris on Jul 07, 2009 02:17 PM  | Hide replies

Amole truly deserved more credit for TZP then what he actually got, unfortunately our media chose to ignore the artist even Aamir did not acknowledge Amole's immense contribution for the success of the film which is unfortunate and shows media bias.I hope Aamir has atleast paid him well for the excellent script. His entire career seems to have been overshadowed by Aamir right from "Holi" to "TZP"

I wish success to Amole for his next film "Sapno Ko Ginte Ginte" and "Kaminey" he deserves some applause from the audience

Absolutely. I agree with you. I've heard from friends in the industry who know Amole more closely, that he is a most sincere person and completely down to earth. That is why one shrewd and massive-ego superstar hijacked his project and made fame for himself. The credit for TZP would have been Amole's. Anyway, I hope Amole forgets that episode and here's wishing him great success in his role as actor. Also, I hope he is able to make a hit film someday. My best wishes also to Deepa his missus and his son Partho.
