A story of a person wrongly convicted; how he spends his life in prison in a rather simple & innocuous way & finally gets his laugh. One of the best storoes to beat the gloom with hard-hitting one-liners "Gues some birds are never meant to be caged..." "Hope is a good thing, may be the best of things..." For those who have missed this one, try & grab a copy from wherever possible. Will make your day.

shawshank redemption is an exceptional movie. But u shd try Pappilon first, for me the best and a true story.

You must be outs ur mind.this one actually sucks.for laughs try, golmaal(original for uttapal dutt's sheer presence)or chalti ka naam gaadi(kishore kumar's brilliant work)or herapheri(mind blowing Paresh Rawal)or one of the all time bests- Jaane bhi do yaaro.Instead of Roja there are many. One can have one's favorites, though.My one of all time favorites is Sholay for its sheer canvas,taut story telling, few masalas for laughs and above all brilliant performances. All in all a complete entertainer. What's even amazing is that it stays with you for a long time. On top of my list would always be 'Satyakam" - for Dharmendra's top class performance and above all for being such a lovely lovely story.If you have not seen this then you probably dont know the magic Dharmendra could create on screen.He is simply amazing and the movie an evergreen classic. Go grab this one from where ever.
