Its a reamke of a malyalam film and a tamil film. So no question the film is named shorkut. just rip off the movie. Priyadarshan and now neeraj voora are not original writers always remake some good films of malyalam. Priyadarshan is a king of remake.
The film is straight lift from the Malayalam Super Hit Film "Udyan ana Tharam" starring Super Star Mohanlal & Sreenivasan. I wonder why the remake part is not being mentioned by the Shortkut team.. I hope it lives up to the expectations..coz the story is good and treated greatly in the Malayalam

sory to interpt, why do they need to mention "super star" with south actors, like here mentioned with mohanlal, you may not see this in hollywood or bollywood, if there is a big star his name is enough does not need this re-affirmation. its common in telugu, tamil and other languages, i thinkthey rwite to make themselves beleive that they really have one super star.
I admire Indian Cinema for movies like Satya,Vaastav,Hera Pheri,Black Friday & a few others which have raw original ideas & have still made a great impact.Why can't people think out of the box instead of blatantly lifting movies & tagging them as "inspired" & "remake"?

just to correct you friend ...Hera Pheri was also a remake of Malayalam Hit Film "RamjiRao Speaking"...But in hindi it was treated decently and aptly remade becoz of which the movie was appreciated

It was not directed by Siddique Lal but Roshan Andres. It was his debut film
The story of this film seems to be a straight lift of the superb Malayalam film Udayananu Tharam (Udayan is the Star)starring Mohanlal, Sreenivasan and Meena. Beautifully made, the mal film was a treat to watch. Hope the aesthetics are not compromised when converted to Hindi, like all Priyan films which are basic lifts of his own or others mal films.

Priyadarshan's remakes ar gud b.c they have the right cast all the time. Glad he did not go in the way of other so called comedy directors in bollywood, in potrayin only hero,heroine, gud songs w.locales.
