Marathis are great...look at our slums in Slumdog Millionaire. They are the best slums in the world.

my dear friends, to give music for movies is Rahamans profession and to fight for Marathis (for rights in their own state) is profession of MNS. you cant compare two things. By the way Rahaman is gating fame in Mumbai not because of Tamilnadu.
I have seen in Dharavi Slum most of the slums hut have TV, even some have Refrigerator also. People living in Dharavi Slum are not poor but they dont want to leave free accommodation free electricity, in Slums.

Why is it so bad to be poor. Some poor people are happier than the rich people and have more full filling lives.

Just wanted to make a correction in your statement.. "Some poor people are happier than some(change suggested) rich people"
We as a nation truly believe in your genius. Oscar is ours for sure. The movie doesn't degrade INDIA in any way. This is what comes close to what a classic is. Easily the Movie of the year. Great plot, good performances by all and very well shot. All in all apart from this being Danny's moment its ours as well. The pace is good and exceptionally good foot tapping numbers. The movie comes highly recommended and is a must watch. There would be critics but it would be hard for them to go against the general mood. thanks for entertaining us all, hope piracy doesn't take a toll on this movie. And Rahman we are looking forward to more soulful numbers from you. Jaihind.

hey pawan..don't waste ur precious time posting on this site.your SRK is not going to read ur post..anyway.so get back to work..my friend and let srk do what he thinks is good for him.
I Like the movie but there are some places where the brutality and rigourousness have been over dosed. The movie concept is good but some where or the other it has reflected what British think of our slums. Actually I am a social worker and I have workd in Asia's Second largest slum Dharavi and found nothing as such the way the movie has potraited. neither I found the kids are as brilliant as per they can win in KBC. most importantly the movie has depicted the time about 10 yrs back when the oy was a kid , I guess at that time also the condition of Indian slum was not as bad. The movie has all the over dosed part which none of the Indian director has ever imagined the movie has show nhow can one get his dream come true by simply winning a gameshow. Really Amitabh's comment to be praised that poverty do exits in the heart of those developed nations. I feel India should do somthing to change the name as DOG word still makes the sense what written during British era as - DOGS AND INDIANS ARE NOT ALLOWED!!!

But they also show in the movie when the kids grow up the slums are transformed into beautiful buildings.
At some point later, it becomes history so anyways we need to see reality and improve ourselves instead of pointing our fingers to others who shows reality. If they show something wrong from reality then we need to really think about it but I do not see anything wrong with this. If we really care about our INDIA Why cant we take this to our politicians and ask questions it is our basic right. By the way I have not seen the movie. Based on the name I am guessing definitely they have shown slums but as a true patriotic even myself I feel sad but this is true.
