when a foreigner directs indian film, he will be nominated for oscars. btu when many great directors like shyam benegal and many mallu, tamil, kannada and telugu film directors take similar ones "naturally", they are ignored..

Counteries other than west are rising and oscars/noble are means to keep its influence intact.
Make it more influential in policies

Identifying the IT boom internationally CREATED billion dollar IT company by a simple COUPLE.

With no Washington or Martin Luther or Abraham Li as Political ancestors inbuilt the need of United States of America and there by Politically WON the rivals to become the President of USA.

There are plenty of 'truths' in USA and UK like racial abuse, imperialism, mass murder.

Why doesnt Boyle make story in that and win a Oscar.

Indians dont need certificate of approval from White rulers

We should not give much bhav to SlumDog

We should get out of servitude mentality.

Dog is an insulting word.

This movie is releasing in India tomorrow, those of u who r very proud of this movie and who r getting happy that Indian movie has reached so far just watch the movie, u won't feel good about India. Its not a reality movie, that boy is shown as chaiwalla in call center and see his accent he speaks in pure brit english. To be very frank its not a reality movie nor its a masala movie. In India this movie is going to be a big flop. The only hype it is getting in west is due to the slums shown in Mumbai. Why Indian media is going crazy if it is getting so much nominations, this is not an Indian movie. Compare it with TZP which was sent for oscars, there is no comparison between the two. TZP is far better than this slumdog millionaire. This movie will be a big flop in India.

Except for Rehman, no indian gets nominated in any category. There are people who tout it as an Indian film with a few foreign technicians. Strange are the ways of hollywood and oscars and the indian supporters, who leave no hollywood hole unlicked
