Raja sen is a typical pre independence indian citizen who likes to lick the white skin... whatever they do these people think like its supreme n right... so Raja sen will appreciate flims like Slumdog which most indians have reject.. Bcoz it is made by a white skin guy these guys are glorifying himm.... Come on Raja sen you know flims like slumdog are made in India almost dozen per year n nobody notice it.. Also the music for which Rahman got the Globe award was Rahman's one of most medicore work... Raja stop licking these white skin guys,,,

You are so right dear vj and so knowledgeable....90% of Indian movies are straight copies and remakes of successful English movies....and most of our hit Hindi film songs are copied tunes from English songs...this covers all music directors starting 1960's...I don't know if u even know of these or what ur actual knowledge level is...but before making a comment do enough background check so that u can talk some sense for a change...

Slumdog Dharavi
by hasmukh gaglani on Jan 21, 2009 03:37 PM  | Hide replies

A lot has been written about Dharavi and Mumbai in view of release of this film. I have been working in an office in Dharavi area since year 2000. Here, I have noticed that various communities are coexisting very peacefully. For any religious festival, the committee members names are mentioned on public roads proclaim members from different communities. Like Idd or Ganpati festivals are celebrated by all communities jointly. There may be dirtiness or minor scuffles but there are several small and enterprising Industries thriving there. In a way it represents the spirit of Mumbai.

Slumdog for the Oscars!!!
by Shyam Tallamraju on Jan 21, 2009 03:35 PM

It is interesting when the likes of Amitabh thrash this movie by presenting an argument that it presents the seedy and dirty side of India which the West likes to see and hence the popularity of the movie, so on and so forth...

it is a very vague argument in the sense that statistics (and crossing the mahim naka in your car) show that poverty is and will always be a real problem in India... and Sen is right in the sense this is not a story about poverty as it is about the triumph of the human spirit...

and considering that this is the same Mr Bachchan who has a problem with the Indian Film industry being called Bollywood (since it ryhmes with Hollywood) i would like to point out to him that he should have thought twice about acting in movies like Kaante etc which are blatant rip offs of hollywood movies made without the permission of the hollywood studios...

dont let your blogging prowess (or lack of it) or for that matter your status in the industry go to your head mr bachchanji... apprciate cinema for what it is because at the end of the day a good film is not about passports but about the quality of the picture...

very true.. this review lacks focus.. the reviewer as usual needs 2 be reviewed, we never came across in this so called review, what the movie is about, pros and cons etc.. we as usual are not interested in either mr. sen or his pathetic reviews.. we are not interested whether slumdog is his darling or not!!please stick 2 reviewing movies in this section..
