Absolutely! For the violence that is shown, this movie should have been rated NC-17 - the equivalent in India, unfortunately, is A.

The film should have been given \'A\' ceritficate only . I think that whether members of the censor board who have certified the film should have done it at half-sleep. I applaud the censor board members for their social concern. Long live the Censor board.

i think Ghajini should have been given A Certificate as many kids i know were heard saying that they were scared by its action Scenes. And as Vaibhav mentioned them playing Violent Games on Computers, Censor Board can not grant U/A Certi. If its so then what about movies on S#X Subject ?????

The tamil version of ghajini was not considered as a violent movie and did not have a A certificate when it was released despite having more gory scenes than the hindi remake. CBFC cant have different standards for Bollywood and the rest.

No point in giving 'A' certificate due to violence. Kids play much more violent games on computers.

GHAJINI A CERTIFICATE
by diputjal sharma on Jan 22, 2009 11:06 AM  | Hide replies

i think we should focus on other important issues rather than these small and trivial issues. its just a film and people should take it that way. there is no point discussing such issues moreover noone forces you to wact hte film. it is totally upto you.

U R right no one forces us to watch the film but on the other hand we do not anticipate such type of violence either.

the movie definitely does NOT require an A certificate. the kind of violent movies that are shown on english movie channels at home are more violent. having said that the scene where the heroine is killed by Ghajini as if hitting a golf ball definitely was disturbing and felt as if i myself was getting hit and it gave me a tremendous headache. but tell me the graphic discription of the rape of a young girl by 20 boys in Noida was not more disturbing which was splashed across all newspapers as well as the news channels.
these days it is difficult to know what requires an A certificate -- a movie or a news channel?

The Central Board of Film Certification cannot have one standard for Bollywood and another for the rest. And by the way violence is just another aspect of life which plays a role in the growth of a man from a child.

it was well documented in all media that the film was violent and it does carry a U/A certificate. that is more than enough.
