Yuvvraaj should have been sent instead of TZP. With a brilliant director like subash Ghai, and a great star cast, and wonderful cinematography, this film had a brilliant story behind it, and brought to the fore indian values of love and respect. Even if it was not a big hit, it rocked!

Why worry about Oscars, Golden Globes, Canes, etc. They have their own agendas and never transparent.
Shame on us that we have so many awards in India but we care the least. It shows that where we put ourselves in the world order so anything outside India is good and rosy. Come on guys, if India has to be superpower, start looking at the world from Top, not from the bottom. Hopefully this way we will achieve our glory back.

Kerala is famous because it's a part of INDIA. Otherwise this dim spot on the universe doesn't stand a chance to even attract an ant's attention.

Mallus have too big a ego for their own good. One mallu will never obey another mallu. Thats the root cause

after looking at some matchmaker sites , i have seen Uttar Pradesh and Delhi girls are best looking..then comes maybe Bengal..southie girls lookin quite average ps: i am not northie
Well done Mr Rehman, you have done India proud. For other s a reality check. The movie is still not released in india, its not an Indian or bollywood movie, as a matter of fact not even a regional movie which are better than the recent bollywood flicks. Has anyone seen the movie, guys so havent I, so how can people go gaga over it.
The media also hasnt seen the movie, i bet 95% of the people in the media have not also seen the movie. worst is, it calls india a slum!
If you want to be proud, then be proud of the Indians who did the movie, like Anil Kapoor, Irfan khan amongst so many others. Also it is based on the novel by Vikas Swaroop, dont see him around or his name flashed. Anyways, congrats to the Indians and the makers for making the movie, will only comment once I have seen it abt the performances. free writers group. ron josh
Re: Proud of AR Rahman
by Venkataraman Natarjan on Jan 12, 2009 01:09 PM
You are right! A.R.Rahman deserves credit for his score. The film is made by a British film maker whose work is laudable. But when it comes to Inda, it is nothing to be proud of except A.R.R's music heroics. The world now knows Mumbai, not in the good sense, only in the bad sense. But it is not to blame the film maker as these things are very much happening in Mumbai. It is a pity that we take pride that the film portraying Mumbai has won 4 awards while we should look to erase away the poverty and inhuman activities going over there.
whether we win at movies or not ..main focus and priorities should be there Bollywood does need change to have a global market no doubt but other priority is to reduce slum. Chennai has plan to remove slum by 2012. what happened to Dharavi public-private project ? mumbai and delhi must follow Chennai plan. other than that we in India must be proud irrelevant to what ppl think. we have achieved some things and have synchronised to global trends etc.. now plan is to make cities pleasant slum removal employment nurture local growth industries Shift development to 2nd tier cities.etc etc
ok, one last thing, i believe a person can live in a hut/shack quite well. ppl are living in village india in such way and still doing ok. But it is NOT possible to live in place when you are stepping into SHIT from ur front door. This will bring you down daily and all ur achievements will be flimsy. so we must all tackle the ugliest parts of India and get out of this muck. IT CAN BE DONE !!have no doubt...

mod delated previous post abt quota doc milionare based on real life story of quota criminal DrRameshBhange(Pune)
Often seen Indian being proud of Indians who make it to the forbes rich list. Is it a matter of pride or matter of shame ? India falls behind somalia in hunger index and yet we have some who are earning millions by exploiting the poor Indians and the poor Indians are proud of this fact! Shame.

A movie like Blood Diamond exposes the cannibals of the west. Mighty heart exposes what Pakistan is.

Alright but movies like Blood diamond exposes the cannibal of the civilized west. Know thy self. India is not an invader.
Well This movie I loved it. I am indian and just downloaded it and watched it. I must say I was impressed by the story telling. I mean this movie is damn beautiful. I must say. Well I also think that indian movies have actually gone downhill from the mid 90's except for some exceptions. 'A Wednesday' was another beautiful movie. There are scores of others which I cant think of now but still we need ot learn a lesson in terms of cinema, I hate it when movies have people who are multimillionairs in them, rich people are just too boring. India has poverty there is no need to be ashamed of that. Lets face it and try bring change. By showing the downside of socity does not mean degrading it, it means embracing change.
