Its one of the most over hyped film..This type of masala movie are very common in india...Its only because everything bad about Indians have been shown for which foreigners are liking it...There are many Indians who are liking this film???How on earth they??its prooved that normal indian masses are nothing but fools who runs after anything that is hyped and everything that is praised in the West

you should first watch the movie. the movie is a MUST watch movie. excellently directed, very well acted. i think indian people just cant appreciate a good cinema. we like vularity and camera going where it should go, item numers, lack of acting, no story. like singh is king, rab ne, no entry, welcome. seriously lot better than those crap.

Seeing how good your English is I can understand why you think that English movies are overhyped. Probably you never understood them in the first place.
Next time I suggest buy a DVD with Englsih subtitles and keep a dictionary handy.

Oright Mimoh.. U're right that English n various other languages have been derived from Sanskrit. So wats ur point? Do u speak Sanskrit? I'm certain u're one of those guys who drinks coke n downs pizza n tries to act cool in a crowd.. Wats ur problem with the English language man? Just coz someone speaks English, how do they become a Brit slave?.. n for ur info, English is not appreciated by most europeans.. its jes the brits n the scottish who mostly use the language.. India is a very tolerant nation.. its citizens are the most patient and bearing of em all.. So wen u talk poorly of other people, cultures n lifestyle, it jes goes on to show how insecure u r.. or how jealous rather ! Grow up da.. stop talkin dirt.. n yea, pls work on ur grammar, brother.

All these men you mentioned above are nothing when compared to Satyajit Ray ..
Also these men have time and again tried to get success in Hindi. Success in Hindi/ Bollywood seems to be their ambition and that talks volume about Bollywood.

whoa.. this is a messy forum.. why this conflict regarding cinema guys? U have gud movies being made in every language in every country.. jes coz we're not aware of them, I don't think its right to finalise on our idea alone.. For every Al pacino and de eniro we have a mohanlal and kamalhaasan.. for evrry danny boyle and stanley kubrick, we have manmohan desai, mani ratnam n various other greats.. coe on guys, I think we shd appreciate good cinema n break from the shackles of regional illusions.. Slumdog Millionaire is certainly an awesome movie.. Try viwing it from a critics standpoint n u'll understand why its a great film.. Technically, for a movie to do well, it has to meet 3 things.. Story, Direction,Narration and acting together.. n thats why this movie is a winner.. Don't think that thi movie is trying to showcase the poverty in India, which is an undenaiable fact.. this is a rags to richrs story of a guy.. u can't show a middle class guy become a crorepati coz that definitely not impossible.. but a slumdog reaching the top is most surely beating the odds.. Danny Boyle has made some excellent films n this one is the best among the lot.. Watch Trainspotting, Millions n u'll know wat I mean.. In trainspotting, he has picturised Europe in a very irresponsible, selfish image..Why wud he do that inspite of bein a Brit? this movie also shows the spirit of Mumbai..of India. Watching a foreign film does not make you anti Indian. The music is also a big plus.this one is a winner

Bollywood fans have always known India has great actors/actresses who only needed good directors, decent production methods, and proper marketing. Let's hope "Slumdog" opens a door.

It is not what they have shown. Read the rediff review 2. I absolutely agree with the writer of that review. It is getting accolades because that is what those people in the west feel about india and by showering praises on this movie, they are trying to mock us Indians.
