That's what I am wondering! Why it couldn't win the major awards? This quite disappointed me. Slumdog is so-so.

Yes i agree with that. This is one of the best movies i ever seen and it deserves the academy.
The story is neatly taken. Biologically how a child borns with a old mans face and moving in reverse direction and finally becoming a kid and dies.
indeed a good thinking by the author and director of this movie. One of the scenes, explains how time is imptortant in ones life is neatly shown, when his girl friend gets accident( with so many if/ used in the narration)
Credits to the director. Bradpitt and cate have justified their roles. the supporting roles too.

As if our Shahrukh Khan, Abhishek Bachhan movies have deep meanings. They are absolute shits. So we should appereciate if someone is trying to do something different and taking us into the fantacy world.
That way, even Harry Potter has no meaning. But, its a huge, monumental hit all over the globe.
So Mr. AP(Odd), dont try to find meanings in movies. Movies r for entertainment.
Atleast, as an Indian(i hope you are), you shouldn't be looking for meaning in movies.

and I don't agree with 3 star rating to Benjamin Button. If people don't know it's been nominated for 13 Oscars!

hav u seen Grand Torino, Wrestler, Che, The visitor, frozen river, Waltz with Bashir?
Once again Mr D'silva you have proved your facsination for things that can never happen in real life. Do you live in a fantasy world all the time Mr D'Silva? You seem to appreciate Finchers knack of getting the details of the period correct and yet you find it difficult to acknowlege the accuracy of Brian Singer's work in Valkyrie (a true story!). Again one would imagine that you probably gave Oliver Stone's JFK a poor rating because you probalby thought that John F. Kennedy's assassination and the events around it was not worth making into a feature length film, the same way you felt with Valkyrie. This movie CCBB is drain on the senses with no meaningful message at all. It is way too long.

If you want message, you should watch Shahrukh Khan movies. They have tremendous and deep messages. One imaginary person dancing around with atleast 5-6 actresses. Wow! Such a meaningfull thing, aint it?
Stop pointing your fingers towards movies which are revolutionary in ideas and imagination. Atleast they are trying to do something new.
Shame on the Bollywood factory for churning out lacs of shit pieces every year, with an exception of 2 or 3 good movies.

Shame indeed on Bollywood factory for churning out so many crap films which is why I don't watch them at all. I prefer films made based on actual events such as Changeling/Zodiac/Flags of our Fathers/Letters from Iwo Jima/Valkyrie/Amazing Grace/Defiance to name but a few.
