Future of Indias film indutry is in shifting to English
by NamoUdupiSrikrishna on Feb 24, 2009 07:30 PM  | Hide replies

Future of Indias film indutry is in shifting to English, to be global in nature.

Indian professionals, scietists and thinkers have succeeded asnd recognised when they started doing their bwork and expressing their talent in a globally recognised language, that is english. Indian film industry has to come out of the its over dependence of hindi and regional languages and has to shift to English to be global, for more exposure, for survival and to show case its originality, before outsiders export their products for our large englsh enabled audience. English is the language which has won the battle of dominance in world and when we adopt it we too are part of that. Otherwise bollywood will face the fate of Spanish, French, German or rabic language movies. English is the common language for Indians and it is foreighn language to every Indian, love it, marry it, reproduce it and make it your own to succeed.

English is the global medium of communication for the new millenium. make it yours, Bollywood, then surive and succeed. Make Indiam movies with Indian stories, Indian stars, Indian settings, Indian songs, Indian technology in Indian English. This is the way to go, get recognised and to success.

Jai Hind,

Just for the sake of movies we should not shift our language to English. It is not at all good move. Movies are just for entertainment and not for developing the language. It can be in any language.
There was no language in most of Charlie Chaplin movies, all the people can able to understand those movies.

What you say is a very stupid thing.

The China is No.1 competitor for US, and France, Germany, Russia have great economy, Japan too is a great economy.

Iran movies have a great respect in world film Industry. The originality of the movie and story will be lost when we are making films in English.

Just for the sake of Oscars we cannot go for English.

I am going to copy and paste this reply to all the post you have made it different topics....

dear friend, you are mistaken, hind stads for a people, to be true, apeople representing toda afghanistan, pakistan and little bit of north west India. Anyway, today it has become a common name for present day India, it is OK. Remember, the day hind represent Hindi, India will go to dogs, will become 100 peaces, so be careful about such foolish arguements.

Shifting to English is not for movies, but for success, to communicate with the global community, to come out of the frog-in-the-well attotude of people like you.

Professionals from India are recognised and respected all over the world in science, IT, culture, literature and in every field when they did their work in a globlly communicable language, tht is english. This is what is the issue, for success, adopt the best formula.

Language is just a formula of sounds, adopt the best, simple and globallyrecognised one in any field, cinma, science, technology, literature and then in you have arrived at a global stage.

Hope you are not for pushing Indian people back to midieval or stone ages.
