This is a great event for India. Rahhmaan has made a great achiement where in he even said that he had Hate and Love to choose, but he chose love. Why hate is I dont understand, but he is great .
I am an Indian and I have been working in various countries and I have friends and colleagues from all over the world. What Mr.Bachan said is true. Poverties and slums are everywhere in different forms even in developed countries. The English man, who took the movie slum dog millionaire, knows that in his country, the local governments build flats for poor people. Indian slums dogs are at least hard working people and they build the slums. But if the government doesn’t support his country’s slum dogs, they will die like street dogs in the street. Because, they don’t know what is hard working. What they know is to go to benefit office get the money, spend that money for alcohol, and drugs. Make too many babies to get more child benefit. And also they know that, for example, how to make sex with their mother’s boy friend or father’s girl friend or how to make sex with son-in-law or daughter-in -law. This is their culture. India never invaded and plundered other countries. So we do not have that sort of money to build council flats for all poor people. Even though we have a nasty neighbour and we spend our income for defence we have progressed a lot when compared to 1947. The English guy who took the picture with the support of Indian idiots must understand that Briton, when compared to India, is a very small country. Still they have considerable amount of poor people and council flats all over the UK. There are so many other countries in the wor

This is really sad that film makers are being slammed for such a beautiful adaption. For all those people like sanjai, please read the book first. The book is by an Indian, where does propoganda comes in when someone in mumbai writes a good book like this. The movie just depicts the novel. Its ridiculous and actually just shows how propoganda actually works. There is no point in cursing at movie makers, if you don't like the adaption or story then why don't you criticize your fellow Indian, or is there a propoganda in the fact that one Indian Mr. Vikas Swarup wrote Q&A ....

There are so many other countries in the world, which are poorer than India. Indian idiots who are proud about the movie slum dog millionaire must understand this is a propaganda movie came out of colonial attitude. The only happy and funny thing is our great Rahman got world attention for his ordinary work and painfully at a price. If you want to know what is real Briton please go to the Sun news web site. Briton’s national newspaper!! But remember, English people are not like Indians who have got two opinions even when their mother got raped.
slumdog is a british film directed by a briton;they didn't have slums in britain,so they borrowed one from india.indian media are just marketing themselves by creating immature hype.a r rehman's is only indian contribution and even that is inflated.rehman should value his music and indians' appreciation better than getting carried away.Incidentally,Indians abroad are not ashamed of mentioning their nationality as claimed by rehman's nephew. In fact, mentioning India is credit.Does he think Indians will identify themselves as Pakistanis or bangladeshis or polish?Melbourne police has advised indians not to talk too loudly in their native language because that's what they do.So,Rehman has only joined a group by speaking in Tamil and becoming incomprehendible.

I can't see any thing special in Slumdog or hear any thing special in MUSIC. just because it has gone to nominations and won couple of awards does not mean any thing for India or indians. THERE IS NOTHING TO BE PROUD OFF IT IS BRITISH AND AS YOU SAY BORROWED SLUMS FROM INDIA. Britain and USA do have slums and they are called Ghettos. But they are much cleaner then what we see in India. In Africa they are called Shanti Towns. I am more proud of the English version of Dev Anand,Wheeda Rahmans 60s movie THE GUIDE. It had more class then This Slumdog. It just portray wahat the west think of India and rightfully We boast of culture and human values but in 60 year we could not eradicate these slums. WHY. watching slumdog brings Sahir Ludhianvis famous word back in concept and how true they were then when written in 1957 and are still now are. Ye kuuche,ye...ha.n.a.a.a,ghar dilakashii ke Ye kuuche,ye niilaam ghar dilakashii ke Ye luTate hue kaaravaa.n zi.ndagii ke kahaa.N hai.n, kahaa.N hai.n muhAfiz khudii ke Jinhe.n naaz hai hind par vo kahaa.N hai.n kahaa.N hai.n, kahaa.N hai.n, kahaa.N hai.n

'Jai ho' is a term used in bihar and up only;check with gulzaar.in a tamil film, the villain shoots the hero in the head.the bullet takes away his brain tumour and he gets cured.of course, there are no lighters in rajnikant films.bullets and scratches light cigarettes.:)
as rightly claimed by one of the members of the ruling party, indian national congress with nehru-gandhi family at the helm deserves an oscar too for making india a big slum and becoming millionaires themselves.
also refer to the ASIAN AGE cartoon for a graphical representation of this.
