Rahman is very good in using instruments. But the tune of the song is no great. Remember SD Burman, he used to generate the tune from the lyrics and it used to look so melodious. Whereas, Rahman seems to create the tune first and then force-fit the lyrics. This does not get noticed due to very fine use of instruments.
