The golden era of Kannada cinema was the 70s when the best of talents dominsted the scene- GV Iyer, Girish Karnad, MS Sathyu, P Lankesh, BV Karanth, Aanant & Shankar Nag, SR Puttanna Kanaga, Pattabhiram Reddy- well, the list is endless. As a Tamilian who has spent most part of my life in Karnataka, I have only fine feelings for Karnataka, its people and language. I wish the Kannada industry all the best

Sachin please do not think I am an exception. There are millions of Indians like me who believe in the oneness of our common heritage. Well, I am from a different state, but not different country!

Raghavendra & Sachin Namaskara; Nim yelrugu nanna dhanyavadagalu! I don't see any difference between any Indian province or the language and cultural practices prevailing there. I see only similarities. I am moved by the verses of Purandaradasaru or Kanakadasaru as much I am moved by those composed by Tamil saints like the Aazhwars and Nayanmaars. Basaweswara or Akkamadevi are no different from Tamil siddhas who were out and out reformists. 'Ku.Vempu or Ana.Kru. or Byrappa or Gorur or Maasti make the same impact as any other literateur in Tamil. Only the ignorant and people who are blind to the aesthetics will smart under illusions of superiority or inferiority of language, culture or races. Sri Krishandevarayarigey jayavagali! Jai Kannada; Jaya Karnataka mathey!!
