I was knocked off my feet when I first saw the hoarding of MILK in a multiplex as a "forthcoming attraction". Thank U, Multivision for bringing it here, and also the forthcoming "THE READER". Tho I remain apprehensive abt how much the censors have gotten at both these movies !!
The genius of Gus Van Sant and the MOST ORIGINAL AND DEEPLY FEELING ACTOR of his generation, SEAN PENN - God, cud there a more deadlier combination and a theme that finds echo even today among conservatives and liberals that lead to the defeat of Prop 8 in California during the elections of Nov, 2008 !!!
I am totally rooting for Sean Penn to take home the Best Actor Oscar (esp since the Screen Actors Guild honored him in this category, and by convention that same voting bloc should opt for Sean at the Oscars over the Globe and BAFTA winner M Rourke, whom I do not care abt so much !!) -
Having watched clips of the movie online and noting what a GREAT ensemble Gus Van Sant has assembled, I am rooting for him for the Best Director Oscar, even tho I will b proved wrong !! Will Josh Brolin triumph over Heath Ledger ? He should, but will he ?
