the only thing is that abhishek did not need to wear a mask to become the kala bandar. no amount of surgery, skin whitening and make up can make him look presentable. mebbe he should surgically implant some expressions on his face , that is his only hope.

sizzler , movies are made for the public and everybody has the right to express an opinion. even the actors are aware of that. you it is not the "puke " in a message board it is about having a point of view and the freedom to espress it. abhishek is a mediocre actor no doubt but still one is lured to see a movie like dilli 6 purely because of the director raykesh mehra's previous record - rdb was an original movie with a message. so one went the idea that the movie would transcend the actor. however, sadly that did not happen. as for the khans, the are much better than junior B anyday and have proven credentials and a large fan following to show for it. so lets compare any of them to a failed star son.

Absolutely correct, Priya. The guy might be a nice guy in real life with great sense of humor and all but as a movie star he sucks big time. No freaking screen presence. He sort of reminds you of an IT programmer or an electrical engineer girls want to take home to meet their mothers. Not that there's anything wrong with those professions but one wouldn't pay Rs.100 (in my case, $9)to see them on screen. You know, Jitendra used to say that Amitabh is no. 1 to 10..then the rest of the industry. I recon, AbhiShake would be somewhere around 87 by that barometer-:)

hey , very well put. my sentiments exactly. and i suspect the sentiments of most of the nation.he is just a poor actor thats it. and this is considering the number of chances he has been given. for most actors , after a flop or 2 they are history. here this guy was given chance after chance even after 17 hits. any idiot would have learnt SOME nuances of the craft after that. but he is still struggling....! how much can we have him thrust on us. he is somewhat bearable as a second or third hero but he can def not be a solo one. he just doesnt have enuf gags up his sleeve to hold the audience attention. they say the biggest insult for an actor especially after being part of the industry for so many yrs is too be told his performance is dismal. it is ok to be told that the movie was bad , not a performance. i dont think amitabh bachchan has given a poor performance in yrs.his acting is consistant which is the mark of a star. what is the saddest part is that the big B's greatest strength ie his dailogue delivery ...is Junior B's biggest weakness. he has the poorest dailogue delivery possible. yess, i also agree he comes across as this really nice guy with a sense of humour. but an actor he is NOT.

Another major problem he has to contend with (unfortunately, us in the audience also) is his body language. Whether he's standing or about start walking, his head tilts while knees are knocked. Sort of like --i hate to say it-- a girly man. And, that's an absolute abomination for a Hindi film actor.Perhaps, he would've fit perfectly with the stars of the 40' and 50's...you know, the guys with lots of feminine gestures. In today's bollywood, it just shouldn't cut it. But it does...Hell, give me 20 pictures to practice and I'll (with my perfectly chiseled gujju features, of course -:) give a damn hit here and there.

Delhi 6 made 33crore just from domestic market. From US alone it made 800,000 dollars. Do not have numbers from other countries. With this kind of off beat film and only with Abhishek's power it nade so much money. This is very difficult to digest for Khan fans and Indian media. But they know the truth. Producers are getting back their money and they are signing their next with the Bachchans, unlike the Khans, who produces their own movie and claim a hit. Who cares of rediff showing flop or hit??

Ali Mian, whatever gross the film turned in was because of the residual effect of Rang De director's follow up, not because of your boy. And, btw, just because you hate AbhiShake, doesn't mean you like the Khans. There are great non-khan actors like Devgan, Hrithik and Abhay Deol if you care to look beyond your 6 foot 3 inch lump.

This movie is one of the worst movies i have seen in recent times. Why this movie is first of all made is hard to understand. I still cant understand what this movie exactly about. Abhishek bachhan has proved he is one of the worst actors in the industry right now. No dress sense, no expression. Only plus point was breath taking cinematography and music. I expected lot from mehra after RDB but he has proved that it was a fluke or aamir khan ghost directed RDB. Abhishek should stop acting or he should make some more gay movies with john abraham. I have never seen a stupid actor like him. I dont know how mani ratnam tolerates him. I think he will take some extra acting classes to abhishek before he starts shooting.

Thanks for the suggestion. Abhishkeh was going to stop acting. But the bollywood directors and producers are not letting him go. They said if Sharukh can do one "Guru" or Aamir Khan can do one "Dostana" or Akshay can do one "Yuva" or etc... he will quit acting. He already proved that in KANK and showed shahrukh how to act.

sonam has a nice smile which lights up her face but a breathless dailogue delivery. however, she has potential to make it as an actress in the future.her character was weak and not developed adequetly, the angle about her wanting to be the indian idol was identifiable. however, the father forcing her to get married in this day and age did not fall into place. rakesh mehra has the tendency to regress to stereotypes. over all , a movie that would have sounded great on a story board but on the big screen def does not curry favour.

I went in with the mood set by rahman's victory at the oscars-patriotic fervour intact. i wanted this movie to make me proud of my country all over again. after all , raykesh mehra had set the standard with rdb and i expected a message format with a funky narrative. it was a message i wanted to hear, infact this is the time where the country is most receptive to one. it is sad that the message fell flat. the kala bandar and the god within everybody idea was simplistic if not inane. the analogy just did not strike a chord as there was no aha moment at the end. the ram leela sequences were ...ridiculous and did not sequentially fall into place. as for performances , some great cameos by pawan malhotra, rishi kapoor , the bua , divya dutta ,kulkarni etc the performance that fell through was abhishek bachchan's. he has the same expression on his face throughout. clothes. his clothes, body language , dailogue delivery nothing worked. cut to shahrukh khan in swades.he made the nri nasa scientist so believable that one forgot he was shahrukh.abhishek bachchan is a mediocre actor and nothing can salvage that. as for his sudden transformation to "india works " i still have not figured where that is coming from !! climax was ridiculous to say in the least. the only two plusses for the movie are the the music and the ambience created. it was a pleasure to see a movie set in delhi vs mumbai. have had enuf of the " yeh hai mumbai meri jaan " genre of movies for a while ! sonam has a ni

abhishek looks so out of place in the movie, he did not inspire any empathy in the movie nor did he come across as a typical movie. what i meant was that swades had such a simple story and was so inspirational. shahrukh made the character so believable. anyway, it is a matter of opinion !

2009 starts off in a fine way, with different movies - no violence, no sex ; First LuckByChance, then Billu, and now Delhi6.
All 3 deserve bonus oijts for being made differently. Still, only one big complaint, Abhishkh needs to be out. Fact that he had such a big role, and all he did was purse up his lips from scene to scene should not be forgive.
Scene where they are racing in rickshaws to get Waheeda Rehman to the hospital, Abhisekh was so inept in showing urgency, in fact he was irritating in trying to clear out the crowd.
And like Raja Sen mentions, there was no need to bring in My. Amitabh Bachchan into the cast of the movie, no freaking need at all.

yeah ur right! Abhishek is the richie rich Bade Baap ki Bigadi Aulad. So, he is careless and doesnt bother much for his movies. In fact his performance has drastically deteriorated since his marriage. Hence his movies are not clicking anymore.
