The movie is usual English cinema. Though nothing much can be expected this movie. It is good entertainer. The story evolves the hero and a remote village that is mysterious about an unknown species destroying every village around the place. The hero with the help of other villagers destroys the animal and ends the movie. The movie is nothing new with comparison to recent Hollywood flick. In my opinion one could watch rather, The curios case of Benjamin Button, The reader, Slum dog millionaire. But however, if you wish to watch this movie, I recommend watching with friends and family as it has no skin show cinema. Last but not least, while the Hollywood cinema moving ahead with experimental subjects I seriously doubt if this movie deserves to entertain common man interest. This could be well a multiplex movie. What can be expected from the movie? 1. Fast pace screen play 2. Good visual graphics 3. Usual hero centric climax.
This is an excellent movie.. a very well presented gripping inter-galactic tale with loads of adventure and action. The sci-fi effects look absolutely real and there is no moment where the movie weaken. The amazing dragon lingers on your mind for many days after you've watched the movie.
The critic seems to be a person who isn't really into adventure, action and sci-fi. What he refers to as cliche sequences are actually well-shot adrenaline boosting sequences. The movie is a worth-watch on big screen and is not worthy of being watching on minuscule TV screens using DVD.
A really worthy movie after a long long time. The comment that there is no "strong emotion" is actually a good thing, it's after a long time that I came across a movie that had more action and less emotion; after Spiderman cried for his girlfriend in the 3rd episode, the fun of movie watching had really deteriorated. So maybe Shahid is right but he's not the right guy to review sci-fi flicks from the angle of "sci-fi with less emotion and more action lovers" point of view. The monster is amazingly done and no work of novice; It's one of the most realistic and dread-ly monsters I've seen since a few years.
Great Movie, and a must watch for men who are tired of girly emotional movies. (Plz mind the sexist comment, but you know what I'm talkin about).
Shahid...May I ask you how you became a reviewer. On what basis does this movie get a single star? Jesus Man, its a ridiculous rating of monstrous proportions. 'B Grade' effects? Yeah because you didn't see any established actors. Norse Mythology Vs. Advanced Aliens Vs. Monsters- This is the perfect combination for a chilled out flick- one to be enjoyed in all its silly glory. This film easily deserves 4 stars..whereas you Shahid, you deserve to be removed from the critics team at Rediff. I'm sure you're a favorite of one of the 'inner circle' of critics anyways. Good luck & stop reviewing movies for christs sake.
I just saw this movie yesterday....it was a great experience which McCain has delievered. I really think this movie does not deserve only 1 star. I guess you guys should chk out this movie, forget the review :).
