This Shyamalan is a thoroughly overrated personality. Going by his movies, he is nothing compared to Hollywood movie makers like Mel Gibson.

Correct. Bollywood is only about chocolate faces ,from whom Dan Boyle couldn't find anyone to play the lead role in Slumdog Millionaire

It is actually the Indian Directors who suck up to White Skin...look at our Actors and Actresses. A sissy looking guy like Saif Ali Khan can only become Actor in India just becuase of his parent's bollywood connection and becuause he is not as dark as Nana Patekar. Unlike Indians, westerners don't assume white is beautiful and black is not...they can spot beauty in any color.

Oh for goodness sake...i agree totally with Kedar More about Indian films having a universal appeal, most lack originality, most of you just seem to have a chip on your shoulder and as for the racism remark...well no wonder we are still so backward in the 21st century when people cant move on. And if you talking racism here, then from what i have seen in my many years in India is far worse than anything i have ever seen in the West regarding race.....ie.....Rao Fakir's comment. We accept everyone no matter what colour their skin is....he is correct!

Spot on! We complain about racism but IMHO we are the biggest racists with castes, untouchability etc. Unless we eradicate these evils, we have to remember that the pot must notcall the kettle black

it's not about showing the dirty side of India. The fact is India is dirty. And it's not the poor people living in inhuman conditions, but the apathy of the affluent classes and their callousness which is dirty.

My dear lady, Have you seen the ghettos, downtown & backstreet areas of New York & Chicago.....? These places are very much in the US of A and though slightly better filth wise, they are a 100 times more dangerous to your life than our at least safe to walk around poverty ridden slums!
