True.Sad fact about India. Chopras only push a Punjabis, even if /she is but ugly.Bongs will only push a Bengali heroine, even if she is 40 years old.Biharis look for Biharis.
Indian against Indian, how interesting, how lively...

" decided to join the IAS (Indian Administrative Service) or IPS (Indian Police Service), as his parents wished. But he realised that he was not cut out to be a public servant, where he would be required to 'just follow orders.'"

ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS!!!! The way he says it
Just about anybody can become an IAS or IPS!!!

Try sitting for the exam and passing. You will know how difficult it is!

Also what is this nonsense about following orders??? In the movie industry, you will be kicked around and your pride will go for a toss!

you could pay attention to some other lines as well.

He was studying in St Stephen's college in Delhi, which is, if you don't know,is the Top college in India in Science and among top 5 in many other subjects.
Pickup any magazine's college ranking issue and you will know.

and it is definitely not easy to get admission into St Stephens.

and adding further,a lot of students from there go into IAS and other good places.

Whole point is that,he was in a place which matched his potential and that means he had it in him what it takes, be it IAS or film industry or whatsoever.

I have a experience when my nephew CA , ICWA ,CS all passed in first attempt wanted to join IAS - A close frined of mine was an IAS officer - he has just discouraged .The old times of status and upright people have gone . In UP and Bihar - I am told I may be wrong - these guys will get lot of dowry - becuse they have lot of other income .
Next see the politicinas of this decade - Thugs ,Murderers ,Rapist ,Molesters and what not .Do you think they have any respect to IAS officers .Yes ! films do exxagerate but the fact is even 5 % its truth it is a dogs life for them - at least from politicans are concerned .

Ok,but rate of all St Stepenites making it to IAS/APS is not all rosy. There is no garauntee that just because you study in St Stephens you will get into IAS.

Singh brags as if he was a sure shot IAS.But look at the positive side, he is a good actor, which most IAS/IPS are also.Look at Rathoreji.Super actor.

Abhimanyu's character in Gulaal can be compared with Bhiku Mhatre in Satya. After he was shot dead in movie, there was nothing to see in it.
