i must congruglate for paresh have said...its in India where fair or white skin is considered beautiful...let us put in diffrent way..Will smith is one of sexiest man in world..Danziel washigton has voted as one of best looking man in his 40's...Rajni with his dark skin is highest paid star in india..i dont remember the name of dusky beauty who won the oscar...There are instances in where people look at you as ugly if you have dark skin in india...let us give an example...i have dark skin..once i was on visit to U.S the immigration fellow looked up me and asked where are you going and for wht purpose..i said i m a engineer and going for business meeting..then one of his senior came to me and they talked to each other and spoke in marathi that how can this black person can be engineer(spoke in local marathi)...i was amazed...and they said look at his eyes he seems to be a bevda........then they took me to interogation room where i have to give clarification that i am malayali but i have born and brought up in gujrat and doing my job in pune..they i have to speak in three diffrent languages in front of them..But when i stepped in U.S i was afraid becoz sharukhs incident was just over before a couple of days..but for my surprise they greeted me with a smile..and asked me wht the purpose of my visit and then told me enjoy your stay in U.S...Why to blame other contries...who is racist...being fair gaurantess tht you are educated...being fair says that u are rich.......

Sajan... way to go mate... I admire your courage to come out in the open and talk about your real life example. We indiand keep blaming others... all we need to preach is charity begins at home...

thanx mate..i dont want glorify anything but there is a fact..i never looked as my dark skin in a negative way..i have been always proud the way i look..my frnds, family and caulits loved me becoz of wht i am..but still these things occur in our society..i had only one bad exprience..but there may be people who had more bad expriences...but one should not judge a person on his skin or appreances..let me tell you one thing if a person is obessed he can reduce his weight but dark skin is the gift given by god..even our gods and goddes was dark in colour..even though our society never accepts it nor looks on it...i am saying that even in our movies why should only fair and handsome people have been shown as a hero..a hero can be any one...there is nothing related to looks...people should change their outlook...

Sajan - the reality is that in India, color and caste discrimination continues to prevail. And it does not help when someone like Shahrukh Khan has no qualms about being the brand ambassador for "Fair and Handsome" face cream!!

Open any matrimonial ad in an Indian newspaper and the adverts clearly state caste and color requirements. With all this being socially acceptable, you see any way this discrimination changing anytime soon? I don't and sadly of all the things this generation hopes to change, this is not anywhere on their agenda...
