"'SRK was the first choice for 3 Idiots'"...he never said that...there was just a passing mention in the interview...rediff had to invent this sentence & make it the headline...

Seriously, I sometimes wonder why the media likes to l*i*c*k SRK so much....
The interview has so many other details, Raju's struggle being the most noteworthy of them. But no, the rediff reporter has to highlight a "wrong" fact and bring SRK in for an interview of a director whose film doesnt even have SRK.

Its a fact that SRK was first choice for aamir's role in 3 idiots. Things went wrong during initial discussions and SRK declined the role.

Dilip kumar was the first choice for Zanjeer. Aamir was the first choice for Darr. Amjad Khan was NOT the first choice (as gabbar singh) for Sholay. Does this take away from him the tremendous credit he earned as an actor? Amitabh was the first choice for Mr. India. Sanjay dutt was NOT the first choice for Munna bhai mbbs And so on.... So, how and why does being or not being the first choice matter to stupid rediff?

Excellent observation... I just read it as "gem" of an idea and went back to read as "germ"..
This potrays the standard of journalism of rediff.. all he was sayin was "gem" and our rediff editor doesnt even have the time to proof-read articles..coz hes busy setting up the next, most "irrelevant" headline like this article's..

germ means the starting point from where it germinates.Like a small germ causes a disease and finally even an epidemic.Same way a germinating seed becomes a large tree. That is how people describe a initia spark of an idea as a germ of an idea.
