This post if for Prashant Sharma, since he is criticizing the movie in his every post!

Prashant,

Please stop commenting about the movie since you didn't see even half of it. You should crib only when you have seen the complete product.. I think you are upset that you spent 100-500 (fill the amt here) and still got to see only blue people created through motion capture technology. My question to you, did you not know that the movie is like that from the trailers and programs and hype? And you did know that the movie is special effects drive again from the hype? What exactly were your expectations from the movie? Did anyone force you to go to the movie? Every information about the movie right from the story, special effects, cast was available before the movie was released so you have got only youself to blame for venturing into the theatre.. So STOP YOUR CRIBBING RIGHT NOW!

The movie might appear cartoonish to you but you need to remember that this is the future of the movies.. It is not possible to make a movie without using computers anymore.. Even the Forrest Gump that you are quoting in your every reply got an oscar for special effects, which wouldn't have been possible without computers... The movies are losing a lot of money through piracy hence the Hollywood studios are pushing 3D technology so that people come to see the movies in the theatre for the complete movie experience..

And if you had stayed in the movie, you would have noticed that the movie also has a love story and a social message. It shows how man's greed is destorying our planet. Perhaps our planet was as beautiful once as the planet shown in the movie but we have destroyed it for our monetary gains.. And you missed the last 40 minutes of epic battle which dwarfs even the LOTR's battle scenes (and I am a big fan of LOTR) ...But no point explaining it to you since you didn't see the movie and still dare to condemn it.

The movie is about a vision what can be achieved with imagination and technology. Since you are looking for flawless story lines even in a special effects driven movie, I don't think you will ever appreciate it. BTW I have nothing against you personally. I do wish you start apperiacting the changes that are happening around you. You will see more movies like Avatar in future rather than Forrest Gumps, Saving Private Ryans etc. So it's your choice really.. Either you can remain stuck in the past or move with the times.. your choice!

Peace

have you read the fountainhead? do read it. it will open the windows of thought and inculcate taste and thinking.
if this cartoon film is the future of movies, then we are headed towards an art less, emotion less and bereft of brains world. i hope this isnt true.
human endavour, human intellect and human art is the true form of expression. but that is something which is increasingly being lost on the new 'computerized' generation.
who cares whether forrst gump won an award for technical effects? it was a tom hanks film which showed brilliantly the experiences of a simple man, unadultarted by society. it was triumph of human genius.
i hope that one day the percentage of art lovers and movie appreciators increases and banish these 3d, flicks to the oblivion where they belong.
although i do admit, that as of now, and in future also, people like u will greatly out-number people like me, and this might be the sad future of film making.
but there will be martin scorsese, quention tarantino with his pulp fiction and inglourious b, who will create art in the midst of all this 3d, computerized pulp, and give us classics every year, even though at a much lesser pace.
may man continue to be innovative, artful and a thinking citizen of the world.
now it is peace.

and by the way...classics are classics..they are timeless. that is what makes them a classic. hence forrest gump and godfather and titanic will always remain timeless.
just like rebecca is today after almost 6o years. but i am sure u havent watched it. have you?
watch it if u can. it will be beneficial.

hey prashant .. you are too too invisibly small to criticize this brilliant effort of JC ... you have a comparative mind thats your major problem second is you seems like you can not appreciate someones diligent effort of 13 yeards and worth 100s of million dollasr just because he owe a good time of 2-3 hours for people like us .. but what a shame for you that you dont deserve that too ./.

jai ho
what is a good time for you is a terrible time for me.
secondly i did appreciate the 'diligent effort' of cameroon when he made titanic. now that was a film.
this is..i repeat.. a cartoon film with good 3d effects for the general brain bereft masses of earth.
and u are the biggest proof of what i am saying.

sadly at the end of the day, its money which matters so, even I anticipate more Avatars, Transformers, so many them in making.

And just because you like a particular genre in movies please dont criticise the other genres, true movie lover will never judge movie but will appreciate it..

to all those who care for environment, forests, tribals and so called maoists on ngos should make an effort to screen this movie for your compaions as this is one movie which gradually people will realise is beyond the state-of-art 3D experince and dreams and vision of cameroon..rather deep inside it forces us to think about our persistant madness towards monetary goals forgetting the ethos of social and natural life...
more importantly, it should be shown to P.Chidambram and his centrist collegues and businessmen who are hell bent on launching a similar Op. Green Hunt on those WHO DARE TO SPEAK FOR THOSE FOR WHOM NO-ONE SPEAKS

Avatar is very WELL made sequel of Avtaar ( 1983 ) from Kaka ( Rajesh Khanna ), Cameron have really done well in taking up this challenge , CGI , 3D effects in both the avatar are ahead of their times , Well done , Both movies are very good family entertainment, at least you can watch it Twice , Only thing missing in 2009 version of Avatar is SEWAK ? , We really missed him !

I watched AVTAAR in 2D yesterday in cinemax gandhinagar, the thing I like there is SEATS only... I paid 150/- and got MAHARAJA SEAT ...and nothing more than that.... movie was really not so good to give 5* rating.... anybody means any director can make such special effects by giving money to techies and seating in a room... in short THERE ARE ONLY SPECIAL EFFECTS IN MOVIE... I was expecting more from Mr Cameroon....

tell me...how far can you think.....and how much of it you can realize it in visuals! Mr. Cameron just bridged that gap to almost nil. Techies did a great job in understanding and realizing JC's dream...but kudos to him for dreaming so big and making it so detailed that techies could do their job with elan!

pls dont watch it in 2D, it is 3D and you must watch it in Imax 3D, I have no words to describe it. In India there are only 4 Imax theatres but if you see in normal 3D also good.
