The best movie of 2009 is Bhramaram and Best actor is Mohan Lal. Pazhasi Raja is only costly and some modern technology with that. otherwise nothing. Sathyapalan

haven't you watched loudspeaker, passenger, kerala cafe, paleri manikkam etc. just dont be a blind fan of mohan lal. I agree he is good. but try to appreciate others and their movies also. Movies like loudspeaker and paleri manikkam are pure class which was not seen in the near recent in malayalam movies. If it was mohan lal who acted in pazhasi raja, i'm sure you wont find any problem with modern technology used in the film. Just dont be blind enuf and ignore other movies which are much much better than wat u claim as the best movie of 2009. PS : I'm not an ardent mammooty fan.
Loud speaker is neither considered to be included in best films category nor in best actor category.. THis movies was indeed like a "breeze".. This will be opionion of most of the readers.
Rediff has given reports about Top Tamil films of 2009, Top Telugu films of 2009,Top kannada films of 2009 etc. If you go through the images of above mentioned articles one thing is very clear..only "oldiewood" article is dominated by images of oldies!!! Wake up youths of Kerala!!!!

Unfortunately people in India (except Bengal and kerala) think that Handsome hero and beautiful heroine are the main aspects of a film. Which is not true. Thats why not many great films are made in India except Bengali and malayalam films. I dont care if Mammooty and Mohanlal acts til they die , as long as they deliver the best in the industry when compared to Bollywood and Tollywood nonsense . If you have noticed best foreign films of 2009 have old protagonists playing the critical roles in it. I think your comments are just like a front bencher.
gone are the days of classics like dashsradam, taalavattam, kireedam, his highness abdulla, CBI diary, bharatam etc....nowadays mohanlal and mamooty mostly appear in films where they can get whistles from front benchers based on their built reputation from past movies...even the comedy classics of srinivasan and jayaram are gone...newer actors like dileep and prithvi just do not meet the mettle of great actors and stars....but im sure the mallu fanatics here will not accept the decline of their industry.

this i agree dear . infact all will agree. Malayalam films not as gud standard it was in 90s or early 2000. thers no actor to replace mohan lal and mammotty.
Malayalam film now slip down to the standard of bollywood films. but since they have a rich history i hope we wil get that golden days back

maybe you don't understand hindi language well....thats why u are not able to appreciate movies like swades, lagaan, taare zameen par, parineeta etc...accept it in the last decade or so bollywood movies have been of a greater standard than mallu movies.

swadesh was good film , really realastic , not wasted a single scene. its one of my favrit. lagaan also ok. other 2 just average.
but malayalam films too had some really masterclass films this year. Mammoty 's pazashiraja is a big hit and a classic one.

we all understand hindi dude. we agree that these 4 films you mentioned are really gud ones. But if you ask us we can give you atleast some 20 movies which are pure class movies in this decade. and most of the biggest hits in hindi other than these 4, are taken from south, esp malayalam.
Malayalam Films and its actors r the best in india. bollywood logicless films and model like stars need to see and learn from malayalam films, legendry actors like Mohan lal and Mammotty have no replacment or comparison . the biggest unfortunate of malayalam is that. thers no such class actors after Mohan lal and mammooty. youngsters like pritvi and Kunjako are just bollywood level actors only . Both Mohan lal and Mammotty wil compete themselves for the national award this year. but i think Mammotty wil win

Pazhassiraja was not even included in the Indian Panorama section of IFFI 2009. It was done deliberately. Malayalam films are not getting due recognition in the National awards also for the last few years. So it will be a big surprise if Mammootty gets a national award this time although he very much deserves it.

Bhramaram was only an average movie with a senseless climax...of course mohan lal was the saving grace in that otherwise pathetic movie..But i dont't think he did something great in that movie...the script and the dialogues were so fragile and silly. I think, he doesnt deserve a national award for that..
