Nithya Ramani
by BR on Sep 01, 2009 06:59 AM

If I recollect from past rediff articles, Nithya Ramani used to be a software engr, somewhere in the US, reviewing code written by other programmers.

Even her movie reveiwing job is not good enough.

Sohail's movies tend to be populist
by BR on Sep 01, 2009 06:54 AM

He picks populist topics. Somehow hi sfilm making is 2nd grade. But most of his movies have a good basis , in fact he is better in comedy and sad scened than bhai Salman.
Arbaaz is just a hunk.

But credit to Sohail that he did a farmer movie for mass, instead of being a Punjabi film.

Film has potential to be a med-hit.

My message is for all those dosa munchers and Idli gulpers, including the idiot who wrote this article. Hundreds of farmers are comnitting suicides in Punjab, Haryana, and Gujarat. They are being duped by loan sharks, bankers, and big industrialists moving into agriculture. I guess you forgot the guys who toiled hard to grow rice that you swallow everyday? This film is takes you back to grass root level with an honest effort to portray the plight of Indian farmers. The Rediff editors need to audit these so called experts who really have no clue. The rating of 1/2 is highly biased and demonstrates witer's own prejudices. Shameful example of yellow journalism ... may be I should not expect more from Rediff!!!

ITS A DECENT MOVIE
by tullaram on Aug 30, 2009 10:03 PM  | Hide replies

i dont know why u guys, esp who havent seen the movie are making unnecessary hue n cry. as some have already pointed it may not be the best movie but its worth watching. it does present some realistic aspect of kisaan life, esp of north indian. n i must say our city attitude is really alarming..we need to show some respect to our kisaans..so just dont say that these issues refelct traditional mentality.
they may not need ur money but they also do not need ur insult.
this movie is for masses..n its perfectly alright till the time u undermine the dignity of the entertainment for locals..u may enjoy ur kamniy or murugan or anyother...just watch this movie without any tags attached..or shud i say without caring too mouch for critical reviews..its a masses moive....

Nithya Ramani shud be fired for writing a review filled with discrimination towards our rural folk. The reviewer should understand that the majority of our population lives outside the metros . And farmers do have six pack abs and that too without going to the gym. She should have picked on something else if she was so desperate to mock people who aren't city-bred like her.

typical mentality of our country to get over exited at every small topic.. where has the critic crticised the kisaan ofour country.. he has criticised the way the film i made.. Your comments show just one thing, either our people know to blindly make judgements or to start abusing people when they dopnt have anything to say(which might follow this comment..

I must say that these kind of educated fools like this reviewer are a bigger threat to the society than those who are deprived of a better life.

Mr Sarson-da-Saag, so a moronic Bollywood film getting a good review so that some idiot makes money helps the farmers? How exactly? Or have you had too much butter chicken with your liquor that somehow some crook making money in Bollywood stops farmers' suicides.

Jai Hind!

Bollywood the greatest industry
by Jai Bharath on Aug 29, 2009 07:47 PM  | Hide replies

Love the comments that this moron who should not even be acting made a crappy movie about farmers. Guess he is now cooling his heels in Switzerland inbreeding to produce a Khan/Kapoor hybrid who will make movies in Mumbai with crappy Panju dialogs.

Guess some things never change like the Congress Party and Bollywood. And everyone talks about India marching into the 21st century....REALLY?

Jai Hind
