Guys I was very surprised and embarrassed that no one in the US (Gora log) has heard of our SRK. The coverage of his detention and questioning was very bad...The TV presenters were laughing at him and wondering who this person is. They were asking each other have you ever heard of this Indian man's name. On the screen they were playing some goofy clips and comical facial expression shots of SRK.
I was under the impression that he is a very Global star and that Julia Roberts must be dying to act with SRK, and that Hollywood producers must be stampeding the american airport to get him to sign for their films. I was surprised that Gori girls were not mobbing him for autographs.
Also heard that some TV comedian in America was saying "This indian dude is a chilli merchant (I think referencing 'Red chilli entertainment')...May be he will start selling curries".
Do you guys have any idea why SRK felt really bad? what did they do to him in the detention room?
I really didnt know that absolutely no one other than Indians and Pakistanis know SRK? I mean dont the American's watch our Bollywood hits also, since we have so many global icons in Bollywood.

exoticbronze, well said. global icons from bollywood! a few NRIs who go ballistic at the mention of bollywood stars does not make someone from a local movie industry as bollywood a global star.
fact is, the immigration officers thought that SRK was some kind of a rag picker who was trying to sneak into their country to make a living there.
Hey people should we care when he returns when he goes. jees people a cheapo who wants cheap publicity. A sickhead who thinks himself too big for his shoes. USA never invited him he went to promote his movie for it was strictly business and for USA agencies it was strictly security concern thats all. Shameless creature ! hehehehe
His sponsor was Pakistani business association. May be that’s why he was questioned. I am not sure why some people think he should be given VIP treatment in US airport.

I do not think everyone is getting the point of immigration check. It is not by the name. Even me, being a non-muslim was made to remove shoes, shirts for a check which lasted for an hour. My luggage did not arrive and I had wait. If SRK is allowed without following the rules, there are 100's of stars in other /states nations to whom this should be relaxed. It is the procedure that's it. In India people do not stop in red lights at night time but in US, people stop. You cannot question why people need to stop in US. It's rules dam'n it.

First things first. people remit money to India cos thats where they decide to invest their money. where else can you put money in a bank account and watch it grow ? Had US banks been offering 10-11% interest , the amount of money comming to India would drastically go down.
Also, one more thing -- while Gujarat Riots kind of things don't happen-- you can get shot. the chances of you getting shot is way more than you dying in a riot in INDIA ...
but yeah, the work culture in US is way way better than India. There is just no comparison. Well, unless your boss happens to be an Indian heh

yep, they are assuming that the western countries would turn a blind eye to musl1ms and people from the subcontinent , just because that's what we do here.
Them turning a blind eye caused 9/11. They have learn from their mistakes unlike us who will experience Bombay type attacks all the time.
