POKKISHAM - To be kept as Pokkisham in trunk box
by Ramaswamy Raghupathy on Aug 17, 2009 05:21 PM

Saw the film with my friend y'day evening in Cbe. I will not advice even my worst enemy to see this film. The film was touching in parts but mostly a drab. Qualitywise its a good film but e'body must have to lots of patience to see this film. Songs were also not upto the mark but the background music is good. My suggestion avoid the film.

goes to college the movie was gr8. i have a relative working in the film. but then how do you acept the makeups of two women padmapriya and wife of cheran . the back drop of story is 1970 to 74 when all wud be around 20 (remeber padmapriya goes to college in 1973)or 22 leaving cheran . then the present situation is at 2009 that is almost these two ladies padmapriya and the mother of the boy should be only 55 or 56. will they look that old with the present trend of makeup and other things . we see jean clad salwar kameez clad jet black haired 55 olds in the markets everyday.cheran with his toiling work could have spent some time on that. or perhaps he wanted to do aka kamalahasan in make ups

Like Cheran's recent movies this one too is a waste of time and tests one patience....too slow and too long.....everyone in the movie hall was relieved when the show ended....overall dissappointment......I hope Cheran comes up with someting better next time and also stops making over melodramatic movies.....overall dissapointment

As usual, the reviewer fails to show the rating the movie desrves
by Neel S on Aug 15, 2009 02:06 AM

As usual, Pavithra Srinivasan fails in giving the right rating. For her, such a classic, well-made film deserves the same 3 stars as a formula nonsensical farce!! She is a repeat offender in that sense. Also, going by the length of this review, is she paid only 40% of the salary paid to other Rediff reviewes? Or does she have a word count limit to post on this page? ;) A movie like this deserved more attention and more in-depth reviews. A school-going kid can write better reviews in my opinion than many Rediff journalists out here. I especially hate it when those who don't know the grammar of music write music reviews! And get paid for it too!!!
