WOW! I think this movie is on par with edgy Hollywood thrillers like Desperado, Usual Suspects...Some people may disagree but this movie gives me hope. I loved the movie absolutely and going to watch it again.
It's edgy. It gripped me. Yes, my expectations were a bit lower than usual after reading some negative reviews in this post. But wow! Am I glad that I still watched the movie. I don't fancy spending my hard-earned money on usual, tepid, so-called blockbusters. I save that to watch them on telly one year later (After all then you have the power of remote:) But for a movie like Kaminey, I'm willing to go for it again. I understand if some people don't like the movie. Well, each to their own. The movie made sense to me and even the ending rocked. I mean better than making it depressing. And ending in edgy thrillers always are a little over the top (think of Desperado part 1). My favorite points about the movie:
1. Gripping storyline 2. The fact that everyone in today's world is basically after their own self-interest. Well, I agree 100%. 3. Rocking looks and acting of Shahid and Priyanka 4. Well-ethched characters. Even after 8 hours, I remember Bhope, Mikhail, Tashi, etc. And no I didn't mind use of Bengali or Marathi, even if I didn't understand a word of it. What's wrong with that? They are our national languages tool. Overall, I'm very happy that I watched this movie and gonna watch it again.

Great Review Lady, u are right all characters are so well etched even Tope Bhau(Mikhail). By the way I watched it abroad so had the help of Subtitles for the other language scenes, maybe when the DVD comes,or in TV they will include the Subtitles, but they really are hilarious.
One just can't imagine what is the power of marketing and promotion in today's world.Kaminey was so extensively and aggresively marketed that everyone felt that its one of the best movie.
I also fell prey to such misconception. But when i watched the movie it was so much below my expectations that i want my money back
I urge all the one's who have not seen this movie that please don't waste your time and money on this FLOP Meaningless Movie. Kaminey is utterly BORING MOVIE.

U are absolutely right....i guess most of media have taken money n voted 4 it...Who the hell told Kaminey is great movie? Just over hype movie...it sucks...i wasted my money n take watching Kaminey...i donno wat made people say it was best ever movie n all...i will vote it as worst ever movie which I have seen in a theater.....felt like leaving the theater after the interval...still cursing myself 4 going 2 watch it...

Go n watch ur kind of cinema like Shaadi No 1, Biwi no 1 etc. N only comment if u have some sense of movie making in the world. Its a cult classic like some hollywood movies. N mind u that its already a HIT! One day u will regret on ur comment!

Shahid is the next super star of the industry. He is doing selected good films just 1 movie releasing every year Vivah, Jab We Met, Kismat Konnection & now Kaminey. This star is versatile, very talented and on the top he has nothing to do with Khan & other star war which is going in the industry.
WHEN SO MUCH BUZZZ WAS HEARD BOUT THIS MOVIE, I THOT THER IS SMOETHING INTELLIGENT IN THE MOVIE OR THAT U NEED TO CONCENTRATE KEEN OR U NEED TO WATCH IT 3-4 TIMES TO UNDERSTAND.......THERE IS NOTHING LIKE THAT!! ITS JUST A WATCHABLE MOVIE...A BIT ABOVE AVERAGE , WHERE THE ONLY PLUS POINT GOES TO THE CAMERA SHOTS / EDITING AND THE DARK CINEMATOGRAPGHY... Shahid Kapur miscast as a gangster, a guy who is a gang member who fix gambling races, peddles drugs, in general a criminal, gets shot at the end, but is shown alive and rich enjoying his criminal money. In short, CRME PAYS SUPER PROFITS message. Why did VB stop at that. next may show RAPE IS GOOD ...
just developing muscles does not make a gangster. So the bad brother is shewn as a gangster, while the good brother never flexes his muscles.
Priyanka so-so with a bit role.
unrealistic script, storyline.
And give a big kick in the rear to the Production House, paid reviewers and VB, for making this lousy film but marketing as super-slick, revolutinary and a must-see film. If this is the standard that Bollywood looks up to, I think Bollywood standards are slipping even below the Chopras, Johars films.
Mature, intelligent going to cinema-halls to watch this average fare are made into suckers.

should not your message also apply to the film-makers who paid reviewers to give > 4 star rating to this average movie ? shouldn't they too let others decide for themselves instead of misleading them with a 4 and a half star rating ? capische ?

"just developing muscles does not make a gangster" So what other qualities does a gangster should have appart from developing muscles?? Please refresh your knowledge to check how many gangsters had good physiq. Dear friend Shahid was not a gangster in this movie, please go and watch it again.

FYI, Shahid Kapoor is involved with a gun-toting criminal gang of 3 Bengali bros who run a gambling shop and who fix horse races results. They even go to the extent of raiding hotels and shooting jockeys who do not do so as per their bidding. Later on Shahid Kapoor comes upon a drug cache, and decides to start peddling the stash himself. Is this NOT criminal according to you ?
Also, its not my interpretation abt muscles, it is VB's interpretation that building muscles, socking gangsters and policemen, and running hard suits the bad guy, but the same muscles do not suit the good guy. Why ? Ask that to VB.
My ire is against 2 things - wrongful marketing of this moview and CRIME PAYS SUPERPROFITS message.

Hi everybody i wud like to share my opinion with some facts...
Kaminey is one movie which is going to be a cult classic. Who ever saying the movie is bad will one day praise this movie for its technical brilliance. Some movies are really ahead of its time and got some negative opinion from public but later these movies become classics Teesri Kasam, Mera Naam Joker, Andaj Apna Apna, Dil Chahta Hai, Swadesh, Lakshya to name a few. All these movies received great reviews from critics but was not up to mark on the box office. Same is here with Kaminey but with one difference Its a Huge Hit now! I must say people have sense for good movies n its improving. Do u know this movie is one of the biggest grosser in US among Indian movies? Pls dont critcise just for the sake of it... Mark my words this movie will receive all the awards this yr. including some national awards also.

Great the last line of ur sentence is very true "There are no movies in the competition to compete with it" Till Now! N if u have some sense than pls go and check its box office report its collections r still the same even after weekends. N one of the highest grosser in USA among Indian movies...
I dont blame anyone who dont like this movie. Its up to them. I think the movie is a classic. The charecters, cinematography, the background everything was pitched perfect. Shahid is not doubt has turned to be a matured actor. Vishal by far is finest directors of recent times. Man he has a way to go!
