Down the South one can easily say that Mohanlal (along with Kaamal Hasan)is one of the versatile, greatest and most successful actor in Malayalam. Though bulky, assign him any role he will do justice to it. Rajnikanth what is he doing? Gimmicks? He can be called a style and gimmicks actor but nowhere near to Hasan and Lal. Any doubt?

wat u know about rajni and his acting ??how many rajni movie have u watched n ur lifetime to comment bout him? There are many old movies like 16 vayathiniley,ninaithaley inikum,moondru mudichi etc.. where rajni & kamal both acted in same movie in all these movies rajni's role is the most talked about than kamal's..paratai is more famous than sappani in 16 vayithiniley.. that time rajni is not a big star compared to kamal.. Then later Rajni got a superstar brand after billa.. he has to do wat ppl want him to be..rajni is an entertainer now.. Even in the year 1993 when thalapathi and guna released at the same time.. rajni's thalapathi's character surya is more famous than guna.. If arnold acts in a romantic movie nobody will accept or if jackie chan acts in some very serious role that movie will be a superflop.. becoz jackie chan and arnold have a brand and they r entertainer more than actors.. Everybody expects fights in jackie chan movie and action in arnold's movie..same case with rajni..he has to do wat ppl want..
If u want to see rajni's acting go watch movies like netrikan,thalapathi,6 irundhu 60 varai,mullum malarum,sri ragavendra etc...

So no one ever said Arnold and Jackie as great actor ... so u guys dont call Rajini as great actor ... pls call him great entertainer ... dont have any songs in his films .. his dance is pathetic ... dont have any sentiment scenes ... those needs pure acting .... maybe he can host a reality shows with only his Style ... We need growth ... when u have popularity, you need to take our industry to next level and Rajini with bit of hard work and risk can do it ... but he is afraid of Risk .. playing it safe with the support of his foolish fans ....

Bigest Joke in the whole world. No bollywood movie has matched the quality of south indian movies. Please don't talk rubbish. No one has matched ManiRatnam's excellence in movies like Nayagan,Thalapathy and Mouna Ragam. Bollywood movies are copy makes of Hollywood movies and even the actor and actress try to imitate the western culture which is bullshit. Atleast Rajnikanth,Kamalahassan and Mammoty have their own style which the public appreciates. Its a whole lot of jokers and imitators in Bollywood.Thank God I have stopped watching these pron bollywood movies which are only meant for school goers

Really....? Is that your understanding? So you think ManiRatna is Indias best director,Rajnikanth is best actor and Trisha is best actress and many more right?? So the whole and sole criteria is that the person or product has to be Tamil so that you can appreciate...feel sorry for you Ram. There are many many better directors in Indian movies both Bollywood and regional who are by far better than ManuRatnam. I do not know about who copied whom may be South movies copied sothing else?? not sure. But if you try to defend Rajanikanth and other like him (except Mammoty or Kamal etc) then it is nothing but biasness. There are good actors in both industry and many better actors in other regional movies but dont say those Rajnikanth and Chiranjeevis etc are good...they are real jokers and I pitty them who made them Super Hero...what a cultural degradation!! Moreover if you talk about Bollywood vulgarity and pron then South movies are no exception. Very few movies are made in South which does not have vulgar Songs, exposing and ra*%p)e scenes....

Hello teja, where r u from. probably u didn't see any south indian movie or have seen only a couple of them. Ram Kumars reply to u stands. " local girls can only be projected as aunties" again probably you have not come to south. FYI, tamil girls are more conservative and they dont take off their cloths so easily like others. Thats why not many tamil actresses in the industry. Majority of the bollywoood films I've seen are dubbings or remakes of films from south?!?!?!

I can not a the word BOLLYWOOD even one time in my posting....so not sure how can you come up with the idea that I fancy Bollywood.... Both Industry make equally vulgar movies with very provocative and bad taste songs which project women in bad taste. Can you justify that South Indian movies does not show skin to attract public or they does not show vulgarity. So the idea that South movies are very tasteful and only bollywood movies are pr0ns is not acceptable. I have seen several South Indian movies and most of them are very over acted super king kind of things made for mass and not for film lovers or critiques.
FYI...I am not bollywood fan and watch little of that too

Some of the best Indian movies are from south and South has got the rich tradition no way less than the north. The words of Baghwad gita or the Vedic mantras recitals and the message is univerally applicable . Please have a proper understanding and visit the South Indian temples if you have not till this time.

Bollywood and South Indian movies are more or less same. They are complete commercial movies with little acting skills and depth in characters. They are made for common public to do full Paisa Wasool. So I am not sure if these can ever be considered to judge quality. That is why none of these movies are featured in International Film festival or Barlin or Cannes (except few).
The difference in them is that Bollywood appeals to India whereas South movies are confined in South India. Bollywood showcase mostly flamboyance whereas South movies are SuperKing type. There are very little good actors in either Bollywood or South. Moreover the thing I do not like about South movies are they show vulgarity, strong dialogue and super natural in everything wit super emotional scenes.
Very honestly the only good movies are made in Bengali Cinemas, they are not over hyped or publicized them the above two but they have class and real acting skills. Directors like Mrinal Sen, Gautam Ghosh, Rituporno Ghosh, Suman Mukherjee are very little known but make extraordinary movies.

Saivism and Vaishnavism were existing in south for centuries. This was again well presented by Kamal in Dasavatharam. I have not seen a quality depict of these cults better in any Indian movie.
It is great to watch such fine actors are work together Kamal and Mohnlal are one of the actores of present Indian cenema.They r equal to Nasir and better to Nana and Others.Bollywood is for Lavish and skin show.No worthful film or any outstanding directors are there.
