Aaj Kaal is the usual Bolly rubbish
by Eddie Ray on Aug 13, 2009 11:35 PM

Note the very title has an embedded English word. And much of the time, the actors intersperse English words in their conversation. Is Hindi that poor in vocabulary? No Chinese, Brazilian, Japanese or Korean will use foreign words. why do the Indians do it? To proclaim their former subject status?
And note also how the Bolly producers crave foreign locations at great expense (New York, London, Paris). Why? MY guess is that Indian urban locales are still dirty, grotty and squalid. When will Bollywood be truly authentic - with pride in their own language and locations?

I haven't seen the movie yet but I don't think it has anything new to offer & god knows how it is been termed as super hit even though it hasn't completed 1 week. The only bright side is the Brazilian girl she looks so sweet quiet like the girl u would want to take home to Ur parents.I hope this girl is here to stay otherwise I guess it's an okey-dokey movie that's all

Where are the editors ?
by sanath on Aug 05, 2009 10:02 AM

Rediff, if u do have any editors, sack them, and appoint a new more efficient team - "because of bad mouth of word" wtf does that mean ?

Also read the last para - with the missing words, does it make any sense ?

I dont know when they'll grow up from the same "LOVE STORIES"...."LOVE STORIES" and only "LOVE STORIES".

See hollywood, their brain toddling movies like Batman, Spiderman, Harry Potter and known world wide and even Chinese have made splendid world known movies like Shaolin Soccer and these pathetic Indians can never come out from their same "LOVE STORY, BOY MEET GIRL...ETC."

Dude..I dont agree with you. Movies like Ghajini,Partner, Taxi 9211, The Killer, Bheja Fry, Ugly aur Pagli are on PAR with Hollywood....
...Simply coz those were straight rip of from hollywood movies.

And Bollywood dont make kiddie movies like Spiderman and Harry Potter, so for time being you have to continue watching hollywood movies itself.

Love Aaj Kal
by Nazir Patel on Aug 05, 2009 08:52 AM

Good for Bollywood that a movie is raking in money.
audiences were waiting for a light-hearted film that could tug the heart strings, they add.
It certainly didn't tug the strings of my heart. I still fail to understand as to why this movie is such a huge hit. I think that the audience just lost it. This movie is nowhere close to Jab We Met. It was so slow and boring half way.

Article Full of Typos
by Guest on Aug 05, 2009 03:41 AM  | Hide replies

Rediff is generally a desi site I look forward to perusing as it does not have typos. This article, however, has disappointed me - even if Arthur J Pais did not have time to proof-read his work, the editorial team should have caught this stuff, especially on articles featured on the home page of your web site.

Issues:
1. "bad mouth of word" -- it should be 'word of mouth!!'
2. "Even if Love Aaj Kal plummets by 50 percent in the coming ___??__, as it happens with most Bollywood films showing abroad, its box office ___??___will be something to be envied for a long time.

Right man, i'm a proof reader by profession and it's a real pain to watch so many typos in their articles. I doubt if they read their writeups even once before publishing.

Can someone please compare?
by Voosan Raj on Aug 05, 2009 01:10 AM  | Hide replies

I want to watch this movie, but I need your help.

Can you tell out of the two movies which one is better? Is this movie better than Dr. Raj Kumar's Gandhadha Gudi?

If it is better then i will watch it.

lol....
This fellow Raj Kumar is a good human being. But was never known as a good actor when he was actually acting. It took a brave move from Veerappan to make him an actor and a doctor.

Ahista Ahista was also a film made by Imtiaz
by Ananya Ray on Aug 05, 2009 12:27 AM  | Hide replies

Love Aaj Kal is not his 3rd film, but 4th. Ahista Ahista starring Abhay Deol and Soha Ali Khan was his 2nd, before Jab We Met. Rediff writers seem to have forgotten that.
