there are people like Pt. Hridaynath Mangeshkar who are also called as god of Melodies..we should not bypass them
illaraja is the best in india. He has done so much in tamil. But,I must say his music in kannada movies has never been flop at all. All are wonderfull everlasting melodies.. right from pallavi anu pallavi till aa dinagalu.. illaraja is to be respected immesely for his talent.

Rightly said sheetal-In Kannada especially in Geetha(Shankarnag starrer) his music was too good. we can not even forget Nammora mandara Hoove(Shivanna starrer)-Whatever language he belongs we kannadigas also love Illayaraja.

ARRahman is very much right when he says Illayaraja sir's music has no boundries and does not require Oscars/awards to prove his mettle..his music speaks..I am Maharashtrian..do not know Tamil but great fan of Raja sir
