Indians are deep down ashamed of themselves!!
by Rizwan Khan on Sep 23, 2008 08:19 PM  | Hide replies

For some reasons some indians have subconsiousally admitted they are inferior to the white race. Everything from the WEST is termed better. Anything that comes from there is GREAT. Indians are deemed to be inferior.

The truth is that most indians have no faith in themselves and worship anything that comes from the west!

If alpacino, DeNiro, Marlon Brando, were indians living in india acting in bollywood movies and not WHITE...99% of indians on this forum would be cursing them and saying they are over-rated and not good as compared to hollywood stars.

NO ONE WOULD BE SAYING THEY ARE GREAT! Thats the truth of the matter.

Anyone that disagrees with this is just lieing to themselves.

Mr. Khan,

YOU ARE TOTALLY WRONG. I DON"T KNOW WITH AMITABH SIGNING A FOREIGN FILM HOW THIS THING COME TO YOUR MIND. YOU HAVE WRITTEN IT IN ENGLISH. THAT IS ALSO A FOREIGN LANGUAGE. WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE. WHY NOT READ ONLY YOUR LOCAL NEWSPAPER. HOPE YOU ARE WEARING PANTS AND SHIRTS WHICH ARE ALSO FOREIGN.
ALL THE TV SHOWS YOU WATCH NOW-A DAYS ARE 80% FOREIGN CONCEPT. WHAT ARE YOU DOING THAT IS NON-FOREIGN?
WE SEE IT IN A DIFFERENT WAY. WE SAY IT IS EXCHANGE OF CULTURE.
DID YOU WRITE ANYTHING WHEN NASEERUDDIN, OM PURI DID FOREIGN FILMS?
YOU SOUND LIKE ANOTHER RAJ THAKEREY.

Dude I am agree with you but I have a question to all of you.."Who is responsible for this"..

I think we all... We don't appreciate our own product..we always compare with hollywood...if some bollywood director is trying to make a movie on the basis of hollywood flick then we directly says it is a copy of that movie...instead of neglecting the movie if we see how much effort and work bollywood people made...I think that will be good... But we don't do that... We do stupid comparison between the actors...
I am not saying that these things doesn't happen in Hollywood...but in less manner..people see the quality there not quantity...
We(common man) have to change first..

Guys, please! As a white American woman I feel sad that you think this way. They are all entertainers whether from east or west & it can only be a good thing to blend talents & let teh world see what India has to offer. Please don't bring racial negativity into such a lighthearted area as entertainment :-)

I agree with you Kelly.. the way movies are made in every country is unique so it is not right to compare but a blend of movies would be great to watch..we have seen actors like Om Puri acting in mainstream English Movies and they have done a great job and blended right in..am sure Amitabh will also do a great job.. as long as we dont do any comparisons and watch the movie..everything will be fine..

Al Pacino, Robert De Niro are great because they have been accepted worldwide and have fans through out the world. No matter how big Amitabh is he is just an Indian superstar and can't even dream of being compared to Al Pacino. Even Jackie Chan is great because he has taken Chinese cinema global and is a superstar worldwide. Amitabh is just a hollywood wannabe who does some international shows in US, Dubai etc where 99% of the crowds are NRIs and Indians. Sorry to say but Amitabh is not in the same league as Robert De Niros and Al Pacinos or Sean Connerys of this world

i pity you gokul.
let AB & al pacino, robert de niro act in the same frame..then may be everyone would believe how accepted AB is . only because hindi is not spoken to all over world..we think our actors are less capable.
we indians need some angrez to mark our products good for us to believe. just like yoga & ayurveda.

gokul dharmana is a prime example of a person who suffers from inferiority complex!

Please explain to me what is worldwide??? AMERICA???

I can assure you DeNiro can walk the streets of 90% of the world unrecognised. Its just the western media who talk about WORLDWIDE, in reality WORLDWIDE is just america and american wannabes like Gokul Dharmana.

Africa, Middle-east, Asia. I can assure you Amitabh Bachchan is 10times more famous than deniro or pacino. This is where the majority of the world resides.

But yet Gokul dharmana has been swayed by the western media. Americans also say American football is the biggest sport in the world??? Yet it is not even an ANT compared to SOOCER!

What really annoys me is when indians say Alpacino, DeNiro are legends noone from india is as good as them.

YET if DeNiro or Pacino were indians living in india they would not be considered great!

If we pick for example Saif Ali Khan who i consider to be a non-actor, if he was WHITE and from HOLLYWOOD. He would be considered greater than any indian actor.

Its this defeatest attitude with indians, they have accepted subconsiousally that WHITE is superior. Maybe it was the british rule which has mentally not gone away..

dont get emotional!! AB is the most popular actor of Indian cinema and a reasonably good actor! and any unbiased movie goer knows that rober de nero and al pacino are all time great actors..they have not achieved status in short time..they were part of some masterpieces where AB in his prime days just did all masala movies!!praising them does not mean that ,we have inferiority complex..yeah we have some great actors but sorry its not in bollywood though!! only mohanlal and kamal hasan belong to that category!

I fully agree with you. The sad thing is that indians are their own worst enemy. It's not the outsiders' fault, the problem is within ourselves! If we don't show some self-respect, we cannot expect it from the outside world.

If anything, these stars are making India look bad by licking heels. They are emperors at home, yet they act like slaves of Hollywood, accepting B-grade projects (Amitabh, Aishwarya, Aamir and even Shilpa...Big Brother is a show for common people, why should she enter the UK BB house while she is a superstar?)

Varun, did Krishna took any actors name or did she compare AB with any one in Hollwood. She is just saying that Hollywood will apreciate what great talent AB is.

People like you make wrong news by deriving wrong meaning out of a good comment..YOu are a true desi 1950's era's Indian.

keep you mind open and try to think beyond your boundries....I know it will be tough for you Varun but arleast try to explore yourself.

I saw deewar on tv last night on setmax. The acting of bigb was superior to any hollywood actor according to me. The scene where he falls in his mothers lap at the end was probably the most moving scene in indian movie history. The film blew my mind!!
