Guys, I scanned the newspapers today looking for at least one positive review of TLL but alas couldn't find anything better than 2 starts. I guess one of those 2 stars is in deference of Amitabh Bachchan's stature in Bollywood and resulting kindness towards him....
I guess this movie is another out and out loser. AB, we'd rather you became a recluse like Dilip Kumar than act in such trash. You surely can't be so hard up for money!!!!

Dude Anish... Use your brain... And watch new channel and websites..its a mix resposnse.. some of them saying 3.5 or some of them saying 2.. anyyways newspaper is saying that this is not a typical movie which usually indian audience wants.. Use your views and verdicts.

This is probably equal to AB's performance in Deewar or Zanjeer .... however I dont expect a rickshawalla or maid servant type to either understand or appreciate TLL , it is better they watch a Govinda or Bobby Deol movie with lots of songs & dancing girls .... TLL is not for the masses , it is for the classes.

You seem to have such an inferiority complex. Or maybe you are inferior. This classes n masses divide came thanks only to films made by Amitabh in 80's. Now everytime he does a n offbeat film some, whatever is left, fans go gaga. But it looks so forced. I get every bit of Last Lear, and I found it crap. So are you gonna judge me now? Just how narrow minded this film is gonna turn you into? We despise caste system and destroyed feudalism in Modern India. Stop using words like 'classes' 'masses' 'maid' 'servant' with contempt, that too for the sake of proving your admiration for a silly film.

Iron Man.....You have inferiority complex. Anish showed his class by cursing BIG B by believing the news papers. There is a clear distinction of classes and masses. You can not deny that. Purchase some ticket for your servants to watch some movies in film festivals. He will beat you to .......

Iron Man, the movie was quite good. I am talking about Iron Man the movie, not about TLL. Unfortunately, most ppl on this board are starting to hate the movie thanks to you. Could you possibly change the nickname to something else? Maybe some horrible movie which no one has heard of? It would really help us get perspective.
Amitabh looks ver funny and stupid!. Preity please retire and look after you IPL team. A Wednesday was the best film I have watched this year after Mumbai & Aamir.

how can you prove that shakespeare was an intelligent fellow? Maybe is he famous, but does not mean that he or people who like his work are the same.
The film took a terrible start at cinemas, even worse than Ru ba Ru. Thats amazing!! Ru ba Ru has got an unconventional theme as well and does not ve any stars. Yet people took more of a chance with that one. Its not that Amitabh's so called commercial movies are making any money either. 35 of his last 50 films have failed, and those that worked, well, most of them had SRK, Hrithik and Akshay. Maybe its wrong to attach so much budget to Amitabh's films these days. If he wants to experiment, good for him. Even SRK tried to mix genres with Paheli and Swades that both bombed but still made much more money than LL eventually would. Also 1920 is not usual run off mill stuff and is doing very well. So maybe its time producers should delve into new subjects and back more new actors.

Thanx for agreeing.... I think the period between 1988-1992 was wonderful as so many new faces made their debut and ve had a long career. Salman, amir, SRK, Akshay, Ajay, Kajol, and so on. Maybe something similar might be around the corner.

Guys don't compare anybody. I am not saying that this is the best movie but this is a different kind of experimental movie..You people can watch and appreciate hollywood flick but can't appreciate our own product.

This is a new subject. Just that Rituparno did not do a good job of making it. Inspite of us trashing it though, it did receive a very good review at Cannes. Maybe it is better off in the festival circuit.

A wednesday was different... Rock on was too... We do appreciate being different... Its just that if you can see Amitabh is busy in self indulgence then you know its a film about an actor... not about characters. The feedback at Cannes was by the way nothing special. Those films displayed at Cannes are of a much higher quality. Most of the top reviewers di not even watch this tripe. They are very professional people and well aware of the 'quality' of top indian actors.
Whatever said and done he should not act in movies like Last Lear unless he has the intensions of winning an Oscar. He was right when he choosen to act under Mr Ghosh knowing his credentials as a good director. Mr Bachchan has a very very low IQ when choosing his producers and directors. Show him couple of crores and he blindly signs the contract. He even refuse to learn from stalwarts like Amir, Salman, Sharukh, Govinda. Same fate goes to his son also. They will end their careers in a very low note.

Bachchan should choose choose between his career and good movies. Last Lear is worth presenting on stage. He should now opt for stage shows at Calcutta under Mr Ghosh. Why so much talk on Rithiparno ghosh?. Has he directed any commertially success movie lately?. Why actors go blind to he offers.? If public does not understand the movie, what it is then? Why there is standing ovation?. Are westerners only understand these movies.
If you guys are only 'ART' minded...y hire so costly actors ( I m sure there are better and cheap actors), why spend so much in publicity (if work is good, word of mouth publicity will do), why buy reviewers (like above) and why try to sell it (Huge posters, full page newspaper ads)!!!
Want to enjoy art...watch it in a hole where only u intellectual bongs get the hang of it...y to burden this earth with the weight of your earth!!!
King Lear is a sure loser...a big bore........create history in big time flops.....AB reached NADIR....

Regarding the movie...Its sucks big time!!! If the directors n producers had only art in mind then t the first place there wouldn't have been AB n PZ in that movie...No large hoardings everywhere...and No full page advertisements in newspapers ok.
Its just that they don't know how to make movies that both makes sense and makes money by making the package attractive. U want examples of such types of movies???? Write to me.

what bongs? rkg, there's no such thing as bong support. individuals have different tastes and different likes and dislikes. you may not have liked the movie, that does not mean that you start bad-mouthing bengalis. please. are we living in a civilised society? this kind of hate mongering is the reason why people from across the border are able to kill at will. we are so ensconed in our regional biases, that we refuse to do anything for each other. i am an indian first, a bengali later. i was born to bengali parents, but i was born in india and this is my home. every part of this country is as much mine as yours. i sincerely request you not to spread communalistic and regional hatred.
