Good idea but the only problem is that Marathi people dont want to learn anything from the Thackerays....they are quite well off without them anyway.

two political personalities trying to score political points in the name of language and 7 crore people as mute spectators. By a mere statement no one can insult Marathi or the Marathi manoos...it is far bigger and greater than that. Hey raj fight for the rights of Mumbaites like clean water, roads, housing, healthcare, these will earn you more political points than bullying people in the name of Marathi....Marathi doesnt need your help, it was there before you were born and will be there till eternity.

Raj is under the impression that Mumbai is his father's property.!!
by linus on Sep 11, 2008 06:03 PM  | Hide replies

It will just take one man to be rubbed the wrong way and a cost of less than 100 rupees ( the price of a bullet ) to finish the story of Raj Thakeray. He thinks that just because people in this country are docile and too busy trying to earn their bread and butter, that he is resorting to these violent, abusive and tyrannical methods to terrorize and bully people. He is no less than terrorist who should be charged for treason for encouraging more divisions in the already divided Indian society. People like him are a menace. Today he is targeting the North Indians. Tomorrow he will target the South Indians. After that all non-maharashtrians. Tell him to try and target the Muslims. He doesn’t have the balls. They will put a bomb in his backside and blow him and his MNS sky high. Moreover he can only bully the people in Mumbai because people who come are people coming here looking for a livelihood and not to get into trouble. He does not have to the guts to try it else where. Shame on Raj Thackeray – uncivilized rogue and bully !! I however appreciate Maharastrians and acknowledge their contribution right from the freedom struggle to their contribution to the counntry. But the policies of Raj Thackery are absurd and it will bring profit to no one except to him. Not even his followers will have any benefit.!! He is just a selfish, unethical and greedy politician like the ones we have all over India who play with the emotions of people.

Do you talk such nonsense everyday or today is something special.

Who has asked non maharashtrians to leave. Raj and all maharashtrians are asking only to stop the mass migration happening to mumbai. There is certain limit to everything. This city is about to burst now.
We are also against the bhaiya community because they come here and create law and order problems. around 70% of crimes in the city are done by these people. Majority auto wallahs are from up and bihar and everybody knows the type of dadagiri they do.
All such people should be kicked out from maharashtra to stop transponding it into Bihar.

how is Raj different from those auto wallahs who do dadagiri. kicking out people from maharashtra is not a solution. if you are resorting to kicking out the biharis then please kick out those gujuus and marwaris who hire those biharis. thats all that i meant to say. the point is mumbai belong to hard working people.

Right!! the BMC is run by Bhaiyyas, MSEB is run by Bhaiyyas. Think before you speak. Just because a stupid politician makes stupid statements you believe it. The largest number of migrants in this city are from other parts of Maharashtra and not just from the North. One Rogue Leader and his blind followers creating unneccessary ruckus over a harmless statement taken out context.

The only thing that stopped mumbai from being a world class city is speaking in marathi. so please repaint those boards and make mumbai world class. thank you Raj for raising this issue. we are proud of you

SAPNO KA BHARAT :

UP & Bihari people go to Dehli & Mumbai to follow the below process:
1) Create & live in slum area.
2) Use Railway Track as toilet.
3) 100 sq. ft place 40-80 people live.
4) Involve in criminal activity, so police get more burden.

Why UP & Bhiar govt. cannot take care of their own people ?

We will definitely stop Raj.
First you stop UP & Bihari people moving to Mumabi.
Stop all UP & Bihari from doing below activity :
1) Create & live in slum area.
2) Use Railway Track as toilet.
3) 100 sq. ft place 40-80 people live.
4) Involve in criminal activity, so police get more burden.

Stop UP & Bihar people to give birth of 20-30 kids.

Is speaking in the official language of the union (INDIA) i.e.Hindi is a crime or punishable???

Jaya Bachchan had used neither his native language (Bengali) nor the native language of maharastra(Marathi) but chosen to speak in the "official language of the union(INDIA) - Hindi".

What is harm in it ?? Where is the crime??

There is no crime in speaking Hindi.
However while speaking any language, making a sarcastic comments about other language or state or group of people is more than a crime.

Bachhan family paid for Jaya's crime.

So many events are held in Mumbai where people speak in numerous languages including bhojpuri, bengali or malayalam. No one has objected to those.
While Raj's actions are not justified, Jayaji needs to stay away from making political statements of this nature. Clearly if she spoke in Hindi, none would object. She is from SP, which is a UP based party and she was clearly going overboard to make a political point.

First learn proper writing, use "her" for Jaya Bachhan.
Good point. If she can become Hindi speaking by marrying Amitabh, then why not Marathi after staying in Mumbai for 35 years ?
She could have also spoken in Hindi but she said she will speak in Hindi because she is from UP. Had she said "I will speak in Hindi because film is Hindi and we all are part of Hindi film industry or because I am Hindustani " etc., it was not issue.
It is the attitue which needs to be corrected.
Since she is with two bad people, Mulayam and Amar Singh, she may get spoilt

Mr. YOucandolt...what is wrong in staying in Bombay and still not speaking in Marathi....Bombay is part of India and if you can speak Hindi that should be enough.

When ever I speak in Marathi I feel I am a ghhatee, so don't want to speak...whats harm in it.

by YouCanDoIt on Sep 11, 2008 05:32 PM

This is a political issue born out of political compulsion or situation around Raj Thackrey. It has no major value either. It is also not about Raj winning or losing. Raj will be able to lead Maharashtra ONLY ON THE BASIS OF TRUE ISSUES like farmer suicides and power shortage solution etc.
These are short cuts by Raj and we should not get emotional with it.
It may happen that tomorrow after LS polls, Raj will sit with Laloo and you people will still keep banging your heads on these blogs.
Grow up and understand politics.

It is good to see that Raj called it off and is no more an issue.
