fashion is one of the best films i watched in recent days. it touched me deeply. well the reviews of rediff and some of the other film goers might not agree with me becoz it will appeal for only hollywood film lovers and ones with very sensitive taste
It is sucker of a movie. I was really surprised to read good review about this movie by many established critics like Subhash Jha. Rediff review is just apt. Even 2 stars are the ultimate this movies should get
Brilliant. With all the cr*p being churned out in the name of entertainment today (Golmaal, Singh is Kinng, Welcome and the rest), Fashion comes like a breath of fresh air. Yes the story is predictable but the fact that it grabs your attention for 2.5 hours is worth the price of the ticket alone. Bhandarkar has made a gritty, absorbing drama about the rise and fall of a small town model and her trials and tribulations in between. The movie is well shot, brilliantly executed and has some awesome music and performances making it one of the best films this far. Ridiculed for the number of flops that she's delievered this year, what people fail to notice is that even in a bad film she's been good. Love Story 2050 was dreadful, but Priyanka was good. Drona s*cked. But Priyanka was good. And all these films had no author backed roled for her. Fashion however is her film and will pull through entirely on her shoulders. As Meghna Mathur, the small town girl turned super b**ch and later reformed Chopra shines like never before. Suffice to say she is set to sweep all the awards this year. Comparitively Kangana has a uni-dimensional role - she is good but we've seen the deranged psycho act before. Mughda Gose is brilliant in her debut and the rest of the cast come out trumps too. Arjan Bawja and surpisingly Arbaaz Khan stand out. Don't miss it.
It might not be a fantastic movie but it is definitely worth a watch. It is predictable and banal at ceratin places, like the gay bit was overdone. Also the film needs tighter editing, the second half was a bit of a drag. Priyanka is good as always, Mugda is very impressive in her small role. Kangna is stunning as a supermodel, but her characterization could have been more subtle and i hope for her good that she does some different roles and not get so stereotyped. All said and done, overall the movie is decent, i wouldn't take it seriously just go ahead and enjoy!
well the movie is worth the watch...watch it for priyanka , kangana and madhurs direction...has it flaws but pluss' overcome them...worth a dekko.....elvis d'sliva shuld change his name to elvis jimmy "choo"....wat say!
even though as much i nevr fail to chk rediff reviews...smthin tells me i jus mite not bother frm next tim. I dont know if the rediff reviewers trash good movies, and hail bad movies jus to b different frm other reviewers or if they really re-read wat they write. Its an exquisite movie, wonderful piece of cinema, superb performances, eye-candy glam and edge of the seat drama. Go for it guys. Its a must watch. a 3 n half star for sure. 4.7 if i really wanna rate it!
