hey, surely you get more flak for your fare than any other critic's postings...in fact most of your reviews are batered so unbecomingly that i feel a tad nervous going through them....but i too enjoy them at one point of time. because i feel that they all love to hate you, but they love to read you before that.
i read your reviews too, infact wait for them. you do a great job, though sometimes some of your postings are a tad too complex.
am following your recent series blissfully. good job. and remain as undaunted as ever, because we must raise the pitch against cine-lovers of "vivah" ( i remember all your hate-mail posted against ur review of this particular barjatiya-monster!!)and activists of the insanely derisive "bollywood".
Mr Raja Sen. Just try to simplify things. Your articles and reviews seem to be so complicated that even you have to try hard to understand what u exactly want to communicate. So be smooth and simple in your expression. ONE BEST ADVICE - JUST BE AWAY FROM FILM WRITING. YOU ARE HORRIBLE.
how can you forget the 1966 super duper movie which inspired movies like sholey here in india The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (Il Buono, il Brutto, il Cattivo) The classic movie of all time.starring clint eastwood
I don't personally like "The Graduate" or "Midnight Cowboys" to the extent to call them the best ever but I cannot disagree that they were ground breaking films in history. I adore "Butch Cassidy..", "Psycho", the Sergio Leone films, "Lawrence of Arabia" and all else...but here are some more which deserve a mention:
1. In the Heat of the night: There have been a lot of films addressing racism but this one shows Sidney Poitier's stellar Performance.
2. Cool Hand Luke: Paul Newman's arguably best performance ever.
3. The Great Escape: The epic with amazing performances all over with Steve McQueen, Sir Richard Attenborough, Charles Bronson et al. An Amazingly shot movie with some fantastic dialogues
