Guys, Stop Fighting...
by amrut bilgi on Oct 10, 2008 10:51 AM  | Hide replies

Hey guys...will u please stop fighting. We r here to discuss the movie Vamshi...Well, some of them really loved the movie, for some of them it was horrible n for some of them it was Okay. Personally I would give this movie a 2.5 on a scale of 5.

As most of them have pointed out, 2 is really low. SOme might be wondering why cant i give 3 instead of 2.5. Well, I felt the story was crap..but the direction was good, acting as always appu is at his best..mind u all songs are not good. Only 2 songs r good, rest r average...picturisation is good. I had seen someone commenting on action sequences...well, everyone is having their freedom of speech, i wont deny tat. But I felt action was good n by the way someone told tat its unrealistic, if this is unrealistic then which is realistic. Basically Jackie chan's movies r kinda action comedies, if some doesnt like it then let it be...off late his movies r crap, agreed. But he has given some really good entertainers, u cant expect action to be serious always..it depends on the director's perspective and if the script demands then nothing wrong in making action comedies...pls for god's sake dont call those as horrible....

Finally Vamshi is worth a watch...appu has danced really well. Guys, I seriously feel tat appu's dancing abilities arent justified, he can dance much much better than what we've seen ...why dont kannada producers bring some good choreographers like prabu deva or raju sundaram...

Then tell me who is the best choreographer in south india...one more thing prabhu deva can adjust his dancing abilities according to the nativity...How was the choreography in Lakhshya?? If u call tat as monkey acts then I cant help it dude...seriously now a days choreographers in sandalwood r good, but they r not the best...Puneeth is one of the best dancers in south india, he is better than telugu superstar pavan kalyan. But the problem is kannada industry's reach is limited..Dont u think appu's dancing abilities hasnt been justified??? He is the best in sandalwood, so he deserves the best...

I think the mangalore based Ganesh Acharya, who is engaged in Bollywood Industry now is one of best choreographers. he had worked in few kannada movies too.

If rediif is wrong read sify's review

An action feast laced with mother-son sentiment, Vamshi is just an average film from director Prakash who gave Puneeth Rajakumar's Milana that ran for one year.
The story and narration lacks credibility as the director brings out the emotional turmoils of the protagonist as he tries to encounter his problems due to his parentage. Vamshi (Puneeth Rajakumar) is hell bent on becoming a cop in the police department. For that he works hard and comes first in the placement list for the final selection.

The great disadvantage for this youth is his anger. He is living a very ordinary life with his mother Lakshmi. But everything goes awry on the final day as the interview panel asks him about the whereabouts of his father. Vamshi's father is a underworld gangster who controls Bangalore.

The age old theory that a rowdy son can only become a rowdy, irks Vamshi and his anger heightens and he goes to the extent of beating the cop in the selection panel. This is exactly the DCP Reddy wanted to happen. Vamshi is sent out with no posting and told that he is unfit to become a cop. It is height of dejection for mother and son.

When the news spread that Vamshi is the son of rowdy Kotnal Ramachandra , the response and respect he gets further puts him down. The opponent gang of his father is trying to put him down and it becomes inevitable for Vamshi to take on weapons. His mother is dead against to it but in a major attack Vamshi's fiancé Sharada (Nikita) is injured.

Vamshi takes

Vamshi takes revenge on the attackers in a severe style and he is put behind the bars. The local MLA bails out Vamshi and some more clashes separate the mother and son. Vamshi who is No 1 in the underworld on hearing the past of his mother in the hospital where Sharada is admitted; decide to surrender to the police. He comes to inform his mother but his mother’s calculation is different. She feeds him with poison in the food. Further complications and happy ending is expected from a 'masala' film.

Puneeth is good in action scenes and dance numbers. Nikitha is bubbly throughout and she is not there just to run around trees. Lakshmi would definitely get a best supporting actress award for the film. Ravi Kale and Rajendra Karanth shine in their villain roles. Krishna Kumar's cinematography is top class. The mother and son sentiment plus the song of Dr.Rajakumar from 'Hoovu Hannu' Thaayi Thaayi…., are high points of this film.

On the whole, Vamshi does not stand up to the expectations it had raised. Verdict – Average

I saw Vamshi yesterday.I was pleased with Punith's acting. His acting was excellent and Laxmi's acting was at top class.I cant believe why Rediff had scored only 2 out of 5 stars.Film is good.Fights r good.Comedy by Komal is good.Few songs r good. Then,What should be there for a film to recieve 5 stars????????

by ajaychandra on Oct 05, 2008 03:32 PM

I think the name "vamshi" is also a household name for kannada ppl since this person "VAmshi" has translated lot of novels from Endamuri veerendranath of Telugu.
Some of his famous novels were" kashmora" and "duddu duddu"

Though it was an average movie, it ran for many days due to it's super hit songs, picturization, timely dialogues by actor Ganesh and memorable acting by veteran actor Ananth Nag were plus points.

I know ur a Telugu guy who is talking about open challenge in kannada film Industry.I pity you
what do u mean by manly looks? If a movie is going to be a blockbuster, lot of factors are involved.Only songs cannot support one's success.

Kamal, for ur kind info we had many good looking actors like Dr.Raj,vishnu[@ his younger age ]and so on..
And its not important for a hero to have good looks..Do u go to theatre lookin @ d hero, Loi, you might be looking at heroine ... hehe

From which state are u..? and how many heroes are good looking over there??
Even SRK, salman or others wern't good lookin ,but they made good success..And what do u mean by a look of a hero..?
Go F urself:)
