Geeta Muralidhar
Its an entertainer
by Geeta Muralidhar on Jan 14, 2009 11:31 PM

Well got to see Twenty:20 only now. Overall a good attempt to manage a superstar cast though I wish more screen space was given to Jayaram. Dileep endeared himself within the 20min that he appeared. One need not stress their brain trying to piece together the movie - you know the story as soon as Mohanlal makes his appearance.

Disappintment
by jishith g on Nov 11, 2008 12:46 PM  | Hide replies

To me, Twenty20 is a big disappointment... It is just like a lot of pieces joined together to form a fragile structure.. no depth in story, no sensible scenes.. only efforts to balance between the stardom of actors...

Young actors and actresses are just been neglected very badly.. slight consideration is given to Bhavna and Indrajith though.... even very senior actresses like Sukumari and Kaviyoor Ponnamma are not given due respect...

Altogether I would call it as a failed attempt to show something.. how ever, the objective of making money will surely be met...

Senthil,

You are judging a Malayalam actor by his Tamil movies!

The star's pay is related to what the film can gross. Tamil films have wider audience, hence better collections and better pay. And lesser pay does not mean laughing matter.

If your Dad is a Government servant who makes lesser than a private sector employee, does it make him a laughing matter?

What a fine display of ignorance and arrogance!

Mamooty may be a fine actor. But not now. I have seen kandukonden kandukonden, there is artificality in his acting. We don't expect a mistake from senior like him.

Deos he has flexibility of an actor ? Can he do proper love scenes? It is surely a laughing matter.

Have you ever seem any of these movies subramaniyapuram, anjathe or paruthiveeran ?

its top class.Tell your directors to learn somthing from the films.

Can you make an art film commerically success ? In Tamil the Above films are example. Your sense is entirely different. Like Sex movies ... Thats why Shakeeela movies are big hit there and Art films are flopping.

paruthiveeran is good with good acting from the lead players, subramaniapuram was lousy, bad acting ,the saving grace was that lovely song Kangal which was also picturised well otherwise the movie was average, same goes for Anjathe,Coming to MALYALAM MOVIES ,i agree the current movies are not up to the mark, but the 80s and 90s have had many brilliant movies with excellent scripts great directers like Padmarajan,Bharathan ,Sibi Malayil etc so just because some movies are ok in Tamil dont jump into conclusions,Iam not favouring or biased but i watch good movies no matter what language it is.

Mammooty is the highest no of national award winner actor in india. He's doen more than 300 odd movies in which he's done roles in variety of genres. An in none of the film no one can blame abt his acting. He's one finest method actor of the country. last few yrs he's surprisin us with his impeccable comedy timin in movies like maavi, rajamanikyam etc . Juz coz he's not a gud dancer doesnt mean he's not a complete actor. An actor's role is to act and he's perfect in it.U need to see his movies like mrigaya, ponthan mada, danny, thaniyavarthanam, utharam etc to understand his range.
Dubbed Shakeela films r nowadays running in othr states not in kerala and the audience of those films also r not mallus. And pls dont boast abt art films. The names u have mentioned r obviously better films but not classics. In malayalam also these type of commercial art films been released in the last years as well, tho its not as strong as in 80s or 90s. Films like arabikatha, achanurangatha veedu ,katha parayumbol etc r examples. And when an art film is intented for commercial succes, compromise is done. It cant be called as art film then.I wont definitely expect a film like Adoor's last year relased nalu pennungal from Tamil anyway in the future. True films like last year's 'nalu pennungal' or 'raman' may not run 100 days as it'll be brutally honest and true fims without any sought of masala. In that dept, all other languages shud go long way to reach near by malayalam or bengali.

Dey palanai, u subramaniyapuram and paruthiveeram only last year, malayalam had made films like that a decade and a half back . Just go and watch films like Thazvaram or films by padmarajan, you will know what I meant. Tamil has just started it, but malayalam has ALREADY DONE THAT, BEEN THERE.

Did you watch the movie or not, or ar you jst here to criticize for the heck of critcizing.

This movie is done to raise funds to support for a cause. So jst see the movie nd not jst see the title come out w.ur remark.

Ur pretty dumb as you got nothing better to say, as if the actors don't know their age. Whts the matter, they ar acting and ar not known to you.

Ask your dad to reveal your age.

They may have their abs, bt all audiences see from their movies ar special effects and actors hanging on the rope to do stunts. They spent so much time in gym jst to show audiencs their stupid stunts, nd most of all w/o any story.

Yaar, its better to see these actors in circuses. Now tht bollywood animal lovers ar banning animals from mistreatment in circues. Its better for them to be in one.
