Bond stands out as a franchise only because of the character and how its portrayed on the screen. Trying to create an action character diluting the original sauve could sound a death knell for Bond. There are other pure action franchisees out there like Bourne and John Mc.Cain who can do a similar job.
This is wonderful! We all look forward to the weekend for Raja's review of a film. Then we read through it and curse him across the board! Great fun isn't it? I mean, he's probably the most hated person on rediff and also the most important. If it were not for him, we would have such a boring weekend! Cheers to Raja! Hope you continue to entertain us for many more days...
Beleive it or not, I actually slept off in the 2nd half!!! yeah u read it right.. SLEPT OFF IN A BOND MOVIE.. Guess the only good thing at the premier last night was the Martini that they served be4 the movie.

For a person who cannot a english sentence without using "--" I am impressed that Raja could actually ken in such an elloborate review. If the new image of Bond didnt appeal him, then he should buy or rent the old Bond DVD's and see his heart out. Grow up, or grow out.
And Raja ,you thought just because this movie is being released in India one week before US the whole world will read your review and will not go to watch the film. It fails me as to why you wasted your intellect on such a movie. People go to see action and females in Bond movie and not the story line. You know why Sing is King a hit .Ask Akshay and you'll understand why bond movie will be a hit.

If you watch all the Bond movies, from Sir Sean Connery to Pierce Brosnan, its never a strong muscular agent...Bond is a very Charismatic, intelligent, charming, sofisticated and is always potrayed as a casanova who can win any woman's heart. He is cool headed guy who even under extreme life threatning situations remains cool. He would fight a guy and then adjust his necktie there after. The way he would look and talk to any woman would make her fall for him at that instance. He has a certain style even when he asks for his Vodka Martini...so stylist that others would also wanna try that drink.Bond isnt a Bond without his gadgets...i mean gadgets are part of Bond and the way he uses it and destroys it has a unique style. All the previous Bond except Timothy dalton had these characteristics. The best of them was Pierce Brosnan who took the legacy of Sean Connery to a different level. He was the ultimate Bond. But Daniel Craig lacks all the characters of a Bond. he needs botox injections to get the wrinkles off his forehead. He is expresionless..vague and very flat. He has no stlye...Quantum Of Solace was no Bond movie it was like any other action flick. We have great expectations from Bond movies and are highly disappointed with this movie. Either they should get Pierce Brosnan back or get someone like Hughe Jackman. But definitely daniel craig should be out.

I beg to differ here. Those who rejects Craig as Bond are forgetting the fact that he has portryaed the bond when Bond was raw, not 'OO'. Keeping that thind in mind, Daniel has done justice to his character. Further more, can you recall any Bond who has to avenge the killing of his lady love. It is only after his initial hardenging of emotions in the very begining that he began to enjoy the life later on. And why CAsino Royale was a hit & so was Daniel Craig. For me DAniel Craig is no1 bond followed by Pierce & Sean, wihtou any disrespect to other Bonds!

While Craig brings out a raw element in the character, you would agree Sanjay, that the image of Bond is suave and sophisticated. While he can play sophisticated, he is just not suave. Once can't even see him growing into a suave character. That's the limitation of Daniel Craig as 007.

U shud realize, as sanjay said... the "Cool,Suave,Sophisticated" etc. etc. comes AFTER he has been hardened enuf due to the cheating by Vesper Lynd and then is when Women become a mere pay object for him... so let the stories reach that stage first, then u will get to see the Suave side of Daniel Craig.

bond got all his charm sofhistication after a certain perios of time. for example we are quite different in all aspects like our look and the way we present after certain period in our career . similarly the movies having damiel craig are those days where he has started his career as a spy hence he is raw .
