They said Sarkar was Bollywood's 'God Father'. Sarkar Raj would be 'God Father II'. I wish it were. While Sanjay Leela Bhansali is credited with making India's first 'can be watched by family' blue film, Ram Gopal Varma has been successful in making a dark film. The Bachchan family drama - Sarkar Raj is an half hearted attempt at story telling, with one of the most fragmented plots. True, Bachchan senior delivers a power packed performance and the Junior Bachchan too keeps up with pace. Aishwarya is a cardboard cut out. In the film she plays the role of a steely multinational compnay executive, but in fact acts totally in a wifely fashion, especially in scenes involving her and Abhishek. The resolution of the climax is too poor, where audience are made to believe what Sarkar - Subhash Nagre, played by Amitabh Bachchan tells who is actually behind all the trouble that is brewing. There is nothing in the plot that indicates such an involvement. The film has received mixed reviews. I go with TWO stars out of FIVE for this RGV film. - Manish Desai, Mumbai
Believe it or not. His contribution to Hindi cinema is much more than anybody in last two decades. One thing that he has what no one else has got is the GUTS. U might call it foolishness but he doesnt care for the box ofiice returns. He does not make run of the mill movie (Like KJo and chopras). His factory has given movies like rangeela. satya, company, sarkar, bhoot , kaun, darna zaroori hai. Dont see the box office collection of all these movies. Just look back how many directors have copied his kind of movies after him. See the list of talent he has given to Hindi cinema. He introduced AR rehman into the b'wood. Sandeep chowta, Salim sulaiman, E niwas, Madhur bandarkar and the list is endless. He showed the way to many small time directors and new comers who had talent in them, to come and show case in the b'wood. Or else we would have only seen Karan johar’s kind of repetitive formula films and we would have not have seen the different genre of cinema we have now. Thanks to him, or else I would have stopped seeing Hindi films long back.
Ram Gopal Varma first film is Telugu Shiva which is undoubtedly the best movie of him and even on the India screen ever made.I watched that movie when I was in 17 years old.He has been as film maker from last 17 years.
But One thing is sure that he is different.We can't say Sarakar Raj will be his best but I think it is not going to be another "RGV's AAG". Any how wait and see.All the best to him

I agree, She is the weak link in the movie. RGV could have done with any intense male character or even Bips/Sush could have looked better. Just wathch the seen when says to victor banerjee. I dont like his attitude it negative. It looked like a hosehold women complaining not like a CEO of a 2000 crore MNC.

That is where professionalism has to play a role, they r actors on sets & not beta aur bahu...
