Satwant Singh was pronounced guilty by "deduction"! He had simply taken a vow at his Amrit ceremoney in Harmandir Sahib that he will kill Indira Gandhi. Taking vows and killing are two different things. The information needs corrections even if written with fair intentions. (1) Firoz was not a "Khan" but a Parasi who was adopted by M.K.Gandhi to fecilitate Indira's marriage with him according to Hindu rites as the Nehru family was against her marriage to a non-Hindu boy. (2) Therefore technically Indira family is a Hindu family and Rajiv needed no separate rites. (3) It is for this reason that a political stalwart of Nehru family got the family title of "Gandhi" which has enormous political significance in India, particularly in rural areas. (4) It is ridiculous to see any outside plot in assassination of Indira gandhi as it was a day-light attempt by Sikh body-guards. Kanishka Tragedy was the result of the short sighted and perverted act of the crooks causing the sudden to the lives of several innocent (mostly)Indians. So called investigations follow later undergo several aberations and hinderances caused by those who directly or indirectly going to be held responsible.Not only individuals but also the countries involved stand in the way often. Dear "INDIAN" First of all, if you keep thinking as a sikh or hindu or muslim or christian, then why try to deceive yourself by naming yourself as INDIAN.
And secondly, you say that because Rajiv Gandhi caused riots against sikhs, you'll kill all and sundry.. What was the crime of the ones who were killed in the bombing? And dear friend, most of the people affected by the bombing were punjabis. So against whom was the action directed? The ones belonging to the community which was targetted in the riots? Some revenge this is. What if all the kins of the ones killed turnout and start killing all sikhs for killing their relatives? My friend the fact stays.. There is no religion of terrorists. And there is no specific target of the terrorists. The one that kills someone just for the sake of religion, is the one who actually does not have any religion. Because I have not come across any religion which authorises mass killings.
If you want to show solidarity towards the perpetrators of the Kanishka Bombing, then you dont have any right to show solidarity to the 84 riot victims. Id like to applaud the last response, there%u2019s A LOT of negative coverage of the Sikh community in the media especially In British Columbia. The general public lets the negativity over shadow the accomplishments of the community. Sikhs have been in Canada for more than 100 years, they have fought in both the world wars. It%u2019s not the faith it%u2019s the people who make the mistakes, we have to think outside the box for once. The word terrorism is being misused all the time; just as many other labels. For example people may believe a terrorist has to be born in Afghanistan. I think this movie is just going to be like every other media portray of the Sikhs, I agree it%u2019s going to inform people about the bombing BUT in the hearts of Canadians (not all) might leave a negative image of Sikhs as a whole.
