After 1980, Sahabbir Kumar, Munna Aziz, after 1987, Kumar Shanu, long after, Babul (all immitators) came but could not continue. Udit is a good singer but he could never be Shabbir or Shanu. Sonu and others struggling but........
Let's keep Md Rafi & Kishore Kumar aside,the abovementioned singers are not even compared with Amit Kumar!
A show which pretends to find the next Kishore Kumar is disgusting. Here was a genius and this program has the audacity to say its going to produce geniuses... Its the biggest insult to Kishore Da...

arnab cant sing. He is good but he will disappear. The only singers India currently have are Udit Narayan, Sukhwinder and to some extent sonu nigam but Sonu's voice quality is too girly. So many antakshri's and almost zero talent as far as international standard singing is concerned.

I dont mean to say that we have no talent. We have lots of it. But Arnab being mentioned in the same line as Kishore Kumar is a insult to the legend. I am not saying Arnab is bad. I havent even really seen the show. But I dont like the pretensions of the of show.

Arnab is a good singer with his own voice. He does not copy anyone. Hear his song from khakee and you would know. The show never claimed to find another Kishore, it was only to find the singer who could do justice to his songs.
If you want to flourish, first prepare a place to flourish. Thi is the agenda of our TV channels, running short of creativity and now getting redundant with only naach Gaan show on the name of reality. There is no difference between K for Kishore or any song dance reality show on any channel...soday someone will start a Show R for Rafi and will pay 3/4 cartoons like Asha Bhonsale Bappi Lahri Amit Kumar..all these who have no market value at present and ready to do anything to earn money, to become judge where they could also vent out their various professional frustrations on the name of Sangeet! Sameway someone will start a show M for mannaday...forwarded by great speech in honor of him and finally there will be a show M for Mohammad Aziz and D for Dilbag Hasan. these people who become winner are just like grooms riding donkeys in full public glare. There are no takers of such winners of now so many forgetabble reality shows..how one can forget cartoons of Indian Idol who literally become bar dancers or galli performers only! Same is with Arnab Chakraborty. On the name of Kishore Kumar these people create such a hype and such a great Kishore Kumar that even Kishor Kumar would have been amazed by seeing the way he was projected in thsi show. Today there are lots of singer who can sing much better than kishore Kumar be it Udit narayan Shaan or in his own time Mohammad Rafi. How a copy cat scarecrow like Sudesh Bhonsale can become judge?

sorry buddy, but it seems you are terribly hit by a bug. please get yourself correct. infact with this type of statement (Shaan/Udit N better singer than Kishore Kumar) you possibly wont find any doctor for treatment. better go to america for treatment (that is a place full of people like you, who doesn't know anything about the world)

Forgive you for you knows not what you say.
Anyway this was a good show and a well deserved win, although I was rooting for Nayan. Not sure why we are comparing anyone with the legend. This was a show to pay tribute to the man and his works. In fact all along the show everyone, participants and judges have agreed that there is only one Kishore Kumar and that is the legend himself.
Some of you unfortunate folks have said words to disgrace legends like Asha Bhosle and Bappi Lahiri. This is the reason why we cannot hold on to our culture. If you cannot gratify legends in our Indian Arts & Music you should refrain from commenting on such topics.
It is also not appropriate to compare musicians across different eras. Times change, cultures evolve. But we should hold on to timeless classics. There must be something to these musicians till date coz when we sing Kishoreda's or Ashajee's songs at any party, everyone joins in and has fun.
My 2 cents - as long as we are having a healthy argument!
Its really nice that you have been judged the perfect man for K for Kishore title. Come what stupid people may say, if you have won on the judgement of greats like Bappida, Amit and especially Asha Bhosale then its a true compliment because these are the people who knows and understands music and Kishore's singing quality in true sense and not like the countless Indians who doesn't know the ABCD of music but are definitely smart enough in sending SMS and making any candidate win. Strive to respect music and work hard to even reach nearby Kishore, that will itself be your achivement and salutations to the great legend.
I personally feel that none of three finalists can be compared to Kishore. They are poor imitators. One of the participant's voice does not even come any where near Kishore's voice. It is a great disappointment to me. It only shows how great really Kishore is.

Arnob is good in mimics, just listen his song wada raha for khakee. does it sounds like kishore from any aspect? not at all . he's not even close to kishore.
