Warning!!!
by venkatesh on May 19, 2008 04:30 PM

This is a warning for vijay. He should try to do more character roles. All the youngsters in Tamil cinema are trying to do new things.Like Jeeva in katradhu tamil, Aarya in Naan kadavul, Barath in Nepali and so on.If they can try this why cant Vijay.Dont make boundaries yourself come out of it.

vijay should realise his mistakes.
by venkatesh on May 19, 2008 03:42 PM

This film clearly indicates that dance and songs alone cannot help in the success of a movie.this is applicable to all acters and actress.Vijay and his fans should realise things are going wrong for them.Vijay giving this kind of movies is not acceptable. The major reason for the failure of this movie is none other than vijay fans.when they accept movies like "thirupachchi" then he will give films like this only and u vijay fans there is no use in writing a crap movie as a treat (this is for arun). You should have in mind that sivaji the boss is not went good coz shankar grinds the same story in all the movies and as for kuruvi this is the moral.we should really appreciate the crictic given by david jebaraj - well done dude.Tamil audience are very great and no director cannot cheat them.Tamil cinema is struggling due to the pirate DVDs of new cinemas and movie like kurivi will make the people walk away from the cinema theaters. And Mr.Dharani we didnt expect such a movie from you.this is a big lesson for u and Mr.vijay you should have your own style to resist in tamil cinema and pls dont imitate rajinikanth becoz he himself is not a big man.i got a bad impression about Rajini when i visited his website. In his profile the Biodata coloumn mentions that in About Rajini(the last one):"i live for myself,i dont care for anyone but i respect everyone" what a selfish fellow he is and you dont be like him.How can we give our people in his hand.If he becomes CM of Tamilnadu what is going

Vijay

I was watching the movie Sachin yesterday and was blown away with Vijay's comedy timing, he seemed to have an aura around him. He is not at all using this talent of his, instead he is doing useless movies with useless directors. The moment a movie like Sachin did not do well, he switched to doing Sivakasi and Aadhi. Vijay you have talent - start using it properly!

In Kuruvi everything is fine ..in 2nd half the film totally differnt frm all his earlier movies ..the location is gud...and the screenplay is nice..and vj's acton scenes are treat to watch...he worked hard ..try to appriciate all those things, for human sake ...dont waste ur time in typeing cheap comments...and no movie is comming with positive notes there are many lope holes in all movies...so try to encourage the Kuruvi team, for their effort...and vijay's hard work...

The second half is total crap.. There is no logic nothing and its only with some stupid action.. Not sure what you are refering as treat to watch.. In one scene vijay breaking villains leg by just holding his hand.. It got broke and the highlight is villain gets bleed too.. Means vijay hands are made with blades and people like you say this as treat.:) watch the similiar scene in dhool where vikram breaks the hand of pasupathi. it was acceptable cos of vikram giant biceps.. But your hero has only bones and skin :) i have noticed this only after he removes his shirt in kuruvi.. With that he is killing around 100 villains.. What do you mean by hard work here.. All actors are working hard but the outcome only matters.. You cant watch a movie only for action.. Tamil audience will not accept stupid action without any story.. If so only arjun vijayakanth and sarathkumar would have been superstars now.:) you said the kuruvi team made Effort.. They have provided cheap local romance, stupid action and worst screenplay with all their efforts and hard work to satisfy cheap front bench audience like you.. So for audience like you our comments are always cheap

Hi ALL,

I'am a movie freak and am not a fan of any hero.
I watched this movie last week in Mayajaal, I felt like entering the hall to watch tamil movie but end up with watched one typical telugu masala film.
Even the baddies in the movie proved my statement by talking too many telugu dialogues.
I knew that Dharani is not a great director, still I expect something like gilli, dhil or dhool which are good to pass time. But great disappointment from the whole team.

Mr Vijay : Do you know something called variety; You can't stand in cinema without prooving your acting skills. Please stop imitating Rajini, you can't become like this great legend without any acting. Rajini is a great actor who shows variety in movies like 16 vayadhinile, Moondru mugam, Mr Bharath, Nallavanukku nallavan, Thambikku endha ooru, Netri Kann, Thalapathi etc ( the list goes on). In the all above said he didnt act as a mass hero or super star, he lived as characters in those movies.
I'm not Rajini fan since I stopped watching his films after Muthu, but before he acted in arround 145 movies. So people accepted him because of his long standing, continious hits, style, charm etc.

Also know that people are not ready to accept another star after Rajini, cos the trend is already over after MGR and Rajini. People started watching movies for good scripts and not for the mass heroes, example Mozhi, Anjathey, Chennai-28, Paruthi veeran etc.

Thats why actors like Kamal Haasan are still there in kolly

I'm with Mr.David Jebaraj.

Vijay has to pick and choose films properly and also change his style than getting stereotyped or typecast.

After ATM/Kuruvi 2 successive failures vijay should focus really on his script selection and his acting skills. Maybe he should try hearing good stories from new directors which I feel would work for him.

We can appreciate hard work but if the movie is not good in total than we have to inform better luck next time.

After all, all the movies are made by sheer hard work and dedication.

Saran,

In ATM the songs picturisation was very good so the songs became a super hit eventhough the movie didnt.

In kuruvi except the thaen thaen song there are not songs of subtance. Lets accept it and move on.

Maybe as an audience yo should probably indicate vijay for choosing a good script than to hang around this kuruvi. I'm not anybody's fan. Its my personal suggestion. I have watched all vijay's movies and liked kathalukku mariyadhai, Poove unnakaga, Thirupachi,Thirumalai,Ghilli and even KS Ravikumar's Minsara Kanna. Maybe he should choose better script and a new director for now.

My taste goes with as that of rediff in most of the movies. But in Kuruvi, it is completely out of the expected. The movie was horrible and I dont know how much vijay paid rediff to write a positive review like this. I hate you guys.

by Tadimalla Muralidhar on May 06, 2008 04:35 PM  | Hide replies

Dharni seems to have run out of ideas. Most of the film is lifted from Chatrapathi, a rajamouli telugu block buster and this is no match for the telugu movie. Trisha looks puny and bony cheeked It is time that vijay choses good movies to keep his image. In the image hunt for vijay the director is lost like Trivikram srinivas lost in JALSA

And the director thought..
by Prasanna Nagarajan on May 06, 2008 03:33 PM

That Vijay is Rajnikanth who can carry any kind of role withease..
That Vijay's fans are fools..
That the year is 1988..
That he is the master of masala..
That bits and pieces of his super flop bangaram will add value to this movie
That any "dabankuthu" song will be a hit if vijay dances well..
And the people showed their middle finger to him.

Dont watch Kuruvi- U will Hate Vijay
by Ganesh on May 06, 2008 11:59 AM

Kuruvi- Nothing special. But waste of 3 hrs.
Typical Telgu Movie. Dharani dont have stroy but have Vijay. So he make circus with Vijay all the time in the movie. No logic only time waste.
In Short- If u want to waste time & make urself to hate Vijay- Go & watch Kuruvi.
