Tollywood (TELUGU FILM INDUSTRY)
by ramanadurgaprasad prasad on Mar 22, 2008 12:16 PM  | Hide replies

Dear Rediffmail

Good atleast now you are thinking to see the Telugu film industry. But you first change your crew who is submitting reports on telugu film industry.

They don't know about the Telugu good and Hit movies, where lot of talented directors, music directors, actors and some unique trendy movies in telugu. I think they are just wondering around the person who are sitting with out work and flopped movie technicians who are easily available for interviews.

Please don't defame TOLLYWOOD (the birth place of Chiranjeevi (Mega star), K viswanadh (director), Ram Gopal varma (director), Sridevi, Jaya pradha, S.V.Rana Rao (senior most actor), NTR (vetern actor) , Bapu , Nagarjuna, Devi Sri Prasad (music director)

first of all choice of rediff is poor.It does not contain gud movies which r gud and very gud.this site does not have a mention of mantra,anasuya..etc.this site does not contain the tragic death of shoban babu.so it seems this site is only trying to defame telugu industry,

They did posted the reviews. But they seldom keep the link on the homepage for long time to be noticed by large number of people. If the movie is a flop, they will keep it for long time. I can surely tell this because I have been using rediff for more than 2 years. Theie focus is mainly on Hindi when it comes to north and Tamil in south

by kalyan ram on Mar 22, 2008 10:18 AM

hindia film industry is becoming professional thanks to the the entry of corporate houses that bought professionalism in to film making, but still telugu film industry didnt become professional. you can say that sekhar kammula bought corporatisation film industry in telugu with happy days movie. but the big stars refuse to be professional and follow time managemnt and innovative film making with an feel. all i see in telugu movies is an formula. the present formula is hero makes heroine to fall in love who is the sister or daughter of an powerful mafia/factional don. the hero uses his brains to outwit the powerful don and how he marries his daughter/sister. but of late some good movies like mantra, gamyam, anasuya are happening. i hope to see professionalism in telugu film industry too with young and innovative directors at the helm and the disappearence of big heroes and masala heroes.

Dear chaklam

speak like a Telugu person and try to put forward on this common platform (where rediffmail is severly working to defame the Tollywood by putting flop movies on board) hit movies, talented actors, good actors who have humanity and developed by talent (acceptable to all the world citizen but not only to some illeterate, blind fans who still continuing from NTR generation). forward but not as a CASTE fan. UNDER STAND.
Man let us stop atleast from our generation this caste based cinemas, cricket etc which is not allowing a single TELUGU person in national level platform.

Please we are first TELUGU Indians then our CASTE.

Save TELUGU (the designer of TRI COLOUR Flag for INDIA, the largest speaking Regional Language in India, the mother of carnatic music, kuchipudi, the highest regional movie maker in a year....... etc)

Jai CHIRANJEEVA (THE LEADER of TELUGU)

Heard that Gamyam, Mantra, Anasuya are good movies recently. Most of the films are flopping because of big heroes (BS stars and their fans). Most of these crap movies are just made for heroes and their stupid fans

Arey chaklam, "Gamyam" is a hit. There are many good movies coming from young directors like Chandrasekhar, Sekhar Kammula. Guys like JrNTR can only survive in Telugu as hero because people here are so stupid that they will idolize each and every BS thing in Nandamuri family. Except Sr NTR, nobody else in their family is of worth a paisa. Balakrishna is a criminal. Harikrishna is a bad *ss politician.

Wish that becomes true one day. But I don't think that will happen, coz no industry will dare to give him even a character role in their movies. He is surviving because of the only fact that he is the son of NTR

Telugu Language and Films are Diamonds for ever. They have romance, action, sweetness, freshness, sentiment, patoritism, humor, mythogy and every thing that is seen nature. If is very rare to see all these elements in other movies.Apart from NTR and ANR we had SURYAKANTHAM.In whole Andhrapradesh the name was monopolised by her.Her acting is so natural that no one dared to use her name.We had Gummadi,Relangi,Jaggayya, and S.V.Rangarao.Apart from all Telegu industry had one beutiful Moon Called SAVITRI.
Telegu movies were ahead of times and very beutiful and romantic.

Who are you to talk about standards. It's personal taste. I like Telugu films better than Tamil films. That doesn't mean I should hate Tamil films. You Tambis should grow up and accept that there is world outside Tamilnadu and they too can make some great films. I frquently see tambis cribbing over every other language film whether it's good or not. And to add to that they brag about their films more than anybody

Telugu and Tamil movies corelate and depended since the ages.If Tamils had MGR Telugu had NTR.If Tamils had Subbaraman Telegus had Gantasala. If Tamils have Illyaraja Telegus have SPB.If Tamils have MANIRATANAM TELEGUS HAVE Ramgopalverma. Both film industries have the best and worst actors and technicians.

iNDIA'S SECOND MOST WIDELY SPOKEN LANGUAGE IS BEING NEGLECTED BY ALL ESPECIALLY MEDIA FOR THEY THEMSELVES HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE ABOUT ITS RICH WORD CONTENT AND ITS SWEETNESS JUST LIKE THAT OF HONEY('tenugu' was the actual name of telugu which means 'honey').It is very sad that such a old classical language is being sidelined just because of political and selfish motives of others, especially the idly-sambhar fellows.
It is very true that many telugu movies have been copied by tamilians yet they claim to have made the film and market it aggressively across the world. That is very common for who have no shame.
Above all many a times the word 'TELUGU' is misspelt as 'TELEGU' thats really and deliberately done thing.
I thing all telugu people should be united to get the classical language status for it is as old as tamil and nowhere inferior to it as claimed by the tambis.
