Hi.i used to watch mallu movies .but now i dont .cz even though i am a mallu and stay in mumbai still i ve never left my mallu culture that my parentsve given me but now from much time i ve observed that our movies are goin down. The simplicity with which shobana used to act , the innocence of manju warrier is not seen in any of recent actressess.Actresseslike mamata are really very bad.y dont they go to bollywood if they want to expose.we ve lost our "Maliyalithvam" the charm.Where are the directors who made beautiful movies like manichitrathara , bharatham , gone.I ve recently watched only dileep 's movie.and wat about the songs.recent song i heard which i knw i not recent enough is from chocolate.where are the lyricist, musicians gone? are they also like our politicians interested in just doing drama and making an issue of sumthing small.if this is going to happen than we wont get any national awards or any recognitions.see tamil, kannad people used to watch our movies cz the simplicity, the beautiful environment is lacking in their movies.we ve gr8 directors, gr8 actors actually the best actors whos quality in acting is outstanding but i just want to say stop mimicking the bollywood.there r lot of directors who make movies but please start making good movies.i ve stoped hearing mallu songs also.jaasi songs of for the people are good but only for time-being but please make good songs that lasts. This is my personal opinion

Kripa,

Dont worry. This industry is in a transition period where new people are coming in and experimenting things. Surely this gap will be filled soon. I still love Malayalam films and songs.

Why MACTA split: The real story
by Vijay Taleppadi on Jun 23, 2008 08:28 AM

Though I hail from Karnataka, I used watch Malayalam movies till recently for its quality, story and acting. Now Malayalam movies are going down hill by trying to adopt/imitate Hindi style. Result is 2 hours of BULL SHIT worse than Hindi movies (which you cannot watch with your wife and children)

State may not be able to produce Safety pin, but doesnt mean that the economy is bad.

If you know about world power US which I am hailing from, they are purely a consumer nation, but their economy and awareness is amazing.

This state is something similar which has largest networks of banks and literacy rate and high awareness among people. People who knows only will respond. Others will just sit back and watch...

the real reason of the macta split
by Chris Nelson on Jun 21, 2008 07:27 PM

The real reason for the mass resignation of the top directors are not mentioned in the above article.
MACTA had decided to ban Dileep from films on the Tulasidas issue. During the MACTA meeting, director Siddique who is working with Dileep in his next project, requested to solve the entire issue amicably. He also said he can't remove Dileep from his next project and importance must be given to cinema not unions. But Gen Sec Vinayan replied that union is more important. Then he said that 'most of the directors want to make cinema even by selling their own wives'.This vile remark made by Vinayan against Siddique, who is a top director and very popular and widely respected among his collegeues caused an outrage in the meeting. This also prompted most of the directors to resign from MACTA.

the bane of kerala & the UPA government - communism - has found its way into mallu filmdom as well. it was only a matter of time b4 this happened. the sick communist attitude has already ruined my home state in all possible ways - industries don't survive, education suffers...the list is endless. is there salvation likely to happen?

See. this is what A Moron Commi does in Kerala. He tells another one to shut up. He like any other commies do not like to be criticized. Commi Govt in Kerala is like a Fascist Italy. Nothing works in Kerala, except minority favoritism, red-tape, etc, which supports the Commi Movement.
No wonder why the education in Kerala has gone down- shame to Mallus who claim to the most literate people. Do you have any Central Universities/Institutes? Shame..

SS, I was not commenting to your messages, but replying to Suresh T. I am not at all against Mallus. I have very good opinion on them. I am worried about the state of Kerala. I agree that Kerala has IIM, but look at the standard of that. It is very well at the bottom of all the other IIMs. I feel that, you mallus could have been number one considering the literacy and knowledge of common people. I had been to Kerala and I felt that the avg people are better than that from any other states. But I am talking about the higher education in Kerala. You mallus should have got one IIT. I heard from some source that, Commies do not want to have an IIT for Kerala. They were partially agreeing to that, but insisted on having IIT Student education to be party based. Also, I do not know your qualifications. I just want to ask, how many mallus (students educated in Kerala) qualify IIT-JEE and All India Medical Entrance Exam? The numbers are very less. AP will have more than 1500 students who qualify for JEE every year. Now consider with their literary. Your education standard has gone down, my fellow Indian.

A correction in my previous comment. Please " but insisted on having IIT Student election" instead of "but insisted on having IIT Student education".

I can understand your frustration. The no.of commies in Kerala are dwindling, thanks to literacy, and more people are understanding how they wer taken for a ride by stupid propaganda. And they are desperate, since their future is at stake.

Do you think a literate like Dr. Thomas Issac or a Govindapillai will become a CM or Party Secretary in Kerala. No, because, they have the capacity to see reason. Only Illiterates like Pinarayi or Achuthanandan can blabber nonsense and stupidity (and also keep an intelligent face)to hurt the sentiments of people and attract cheap publicity. People are scared of Pinarayi since he is a goonda and he will use any methods to put down anyone going against him.

Pinarayi is a pest in the society and Achuthanandan is a comedian and more on the nth order.

Pinarayi is all to make money and he is hand in hand with all big real estates.

Poor guy, shortly he will be in jail because of Lavlin. But beware the communist goondas can scuttle the inquiry and even can bring terror into the people if he arrested.

Please do not forget, COMMUNIST's IN KERALA are ABOVE the LAW. No one can touch them. They are like OSAMA BIN LADEN and his followers

Before protesting against any ideolgy try to understand what it is. In a country which has 3 billionairs in the world top 6, the standard of living of people below middle class is horrible. There should be balance between rich and poor. And i saw someone saying that literacy has bought people against communism. Communism along with christianity was responsible for high literacy rate in the state. People dont join communism for prakash karat or achutanandan, but they join it for the ideolgy that they represent. People join congress for gandhi family and being one of the largest parties in the country. People join BJP either in admiration of the leaders or because of its hinduism agenda. But that is not the case with left. Congress play with minority interest. They always support minorities for vote bank. After ruling the country for the major part of its history did the standard of minority changed. No as per the latest finding by the ruling govt. Who is responsible. Come to kerala, the chief justice of india is from a backward class, our ex-president from a back-ward class. What is responsible for it, the political party which has a communist ideology. Even the congress has a trade union here. The state did not gain 100% literacy in the last 5 years, here people support communism that means they know well about politics and know which party and which ideology to support.

Which is the richest party in Kerala? Communist Party..they have 3or 4 TV channels, are planning a amusement park, they take money from tainted businessmen..unleash violence when they are not in power. They oppose privatization of even sick industries but in power, they sell off sick units.they opposed smart city when out of power,in power, they signed the agreement for smart city.they are a bunch of cheats traitors and corrupt people and it is because of them, that most mallus have to search for jobs outside kerala.Do they know what Lenin and Marx taught? look at China, they practise communism with a capitalistic approach..the power hungry communists will lead this country and state to doom

Ha ha ha ha ha .Mr. Narayanan , if you r really trying to stand by the ideology , then you should fight against the corruption of the leaders who back up & propagate the ideology ,which of course had a meaning a decade back. Forget about the entire world , take the list of top wealthiest people in Kerala, how many Commies would be there in the top 15 ? are they really stand by the common people ? r they really trying to solve the gap between Haves and Have-Not s ? open your eyes and see around or the best way is to get out of Kerala and spend some time abroad or a near by state to know the pathetic situation we are in ? we cant eliminate the corruption in the bureaucracy but of course we avoid destructive mind on progress

Malayalam film industry is in deep trouble. Why u need these associations just for fighting each other doing nothing for Malayalam film industry ? More trouble ahead for Malayalam film scene which is already dominated by other language films.

Creativity issues
by rgv on Jun 20, 2008 02:38 PM

The main point in the issue is not mentioned in the article. When Dileep demanded that he want to replace the director, Vinayan threatened him that he can't act with any other directors film before he act with Thulasidas. Vinayan had some previous problems with Dileep and MACTA secy post he misused to take revenge. This irked the other directors and all the problems happened.
A director have the freedom to change his actor, if his perfomance is not good. Here actor changed his director. That's all.
All genuine artists are in the new forum, so it is virtually an ouster for vinayan from malayalam film industry.
Protection of labourers is a good thing but creativity is a different issue.
