All publicity stunt
by Calspadeaspade on Jun 20, 2008 09:21 PM

Even this article saying already we are flooded with emails objecting to the movie is all trying to create publicity so that people will rush to the theaters to watch. I heard from my neview who watched the pre screening said it was more moronic. But there were some offensive portions. But it is ok if it isonly a movie but if it finds its way in American Text books then it is a problem. In west they hate Islam and Judaism but do not show disrespect. BUt when it comes to HInduism they show disrespect. That is the problem.

They are trying to get crowd to watch
by Calspadeaspade on Jun 20, 2008 05:49 PM  | Hide replies

To compete with "get Smarter" they are just deliberately creating this controversy thinking people will flock to the theaters. I heard it was moronic than offensive to HInduism. It was some what like the movie in which Camerine DIaz and her friend go to the men's Toilet to ease them selves. I think it was as rediculous as that.Get Smarter is amuch better movie.

Display of amazing intelligence!
In reply to an article about a Hollywood movie with nothing to do with even a single Indian actor, this guy is writing about SRK and his publicity!
Wow!

RE:ITZ A FABULOUS ENTERTAINER...IT SHOWS THE TRUE MUTHICAL HINDUISM BELIEVED BY BLIND FOLLOWERS

You mean like our spiritual Guru Deepak Chopra wh made money by claiming to be an authentic Hindu first and now he says he is spiritual and not Hindu.Westerners are the most gullible people to fall for a fraud like Deepak.

Amar, Hinduism doesn't need a jerk non-believer like you so you should be the first one to convert to something else. Good riddance to bad rubbish

True. Because Hindus have been abused and made caricature of by the west. So they are touchy. once they are confident like the christians they can also laugh ot off. But they dont start blowing places for funny cartoons about some great missiah or give fatwa to writers. Whether u are offended or not it is worth reacting a little to protect what you think should be protected.

Sane Guru

Calspade I came in late, but you have held the fort. Congratulations and thank you.

Hindus have "started" to take offence, simply because the "other religions" do it with intent of offense. Obviously they dont understand the nuances of hinduism adn what in hinduism and to hindus are allowable and which is considered blasphemous.

Hindus themselves dont follow all the rituals. Hindus are the most tolerant. How else do you explain that India is the only country where Jews werent harmed... that parsees after running away from islamic terror came to India... that afghans, running from all kinds of terror outfits found refuge in India... that even bangladeshis, nepalis, sri lankans, pakistanis have taken refuge here and have not been harmed.

We would obviously and deliberately take offense to ones coming from west and the islamic ones, because they are the intolerant ones and take deliberate potshots, which is offensive.

Sne Guru,
When they make comedies making fun of Christianity or Judaism they only make fun of the bad things without offending the religion. But when they make comedies on Hinduism they do it with an intent to redicule it. American Text books write what ever is in such movies on HInduism.Offended or not HIndus must speak against such things where it is apt. They check with a guy like Deepak Chopra who mascaraded as HIndu and minted money using our Hinduism and Ayrveda from gullible Westerners. Now he says he is only a spiritual Guru and not a HIndu. In that case they should not be asking his opinion.

Some of the so called secular Hindus do not understand the subtilities and under current in such movies and in order to look cool to the world, they say it is OK and Hindus fundas are objecting to it.

Myers? Genius?
by Gopala Krishna on Jun 20, 2008 02:31 PM

Must be in a parallel Universe. I sat through 30 mins of one of the Austin Powers movies -The Goldmember. Genius - Anything but. Moronic - every second of the 30 mins that I suffered through. It wasnt even one of those so-bad-its-funny kinds.

Btw, you sure you watched them movies before you call Myers a genius for it? Or you just parroting hear-say?
