Mature article
by ashwini gupta on Aug 17, 2008 03:51 PM

A very mature and thoughtful article , and teaches to take positive things and discard negative ideas.
Indeed we need to teach ourselves our religion in proper context and understanding others views also before coming to a judgement and action.

we see the same kind of reaction from the Christians after the dan brown's movie n from muslims after salman rushdie's n taslima's book... benefit goes to the creator of these movies n books by having free publicity by the fanatics giving hate msgs for these creations. this once again proves the religious fanatics r fools who create wealth to these kind of author's.

its jst a movie....
by DAWA JACOB on Jun 23, 2008 10:54 AM

i think the reactions are unwarranted...the movie wants some free publicity n controversies are the best ways of getting free publicity.we are here unnecessarily trying to drag religions & gods in such a petty issue.

Poor Indians...will never understand what the author says...They will heartilly protest
by IndiaWiNS ALL on Jun 22, 2008 07:04 PM  | Hide replies

Indians have a long way to go before we actually mature.....

I totally agree with what he says....not seen the film though.....

Indians forget that they are not hindus, muslims, etc.....The concept of being Indian is much higher than just being plain hindus....

Which the Mahatma and our nation creators thought and tried to teach us....

I have seen through personal experinces that we are scared to laugh at ourselves..... We have a long way to go before we mature.....

We Indians take pride of our great heritage....but most of us are actually no where close to the greatness of India that we preach.....

What the author says is just too real for Indians to accept.....and actually a thought that belongs to the comming generations.....Indians today are only meant to earn money for their children...it is these values that will be introspected ...hopefully by the next generation.....

Sorry...but i pity our generation....we will be the forgotten generation fr sure

Why the 'da vinci code' is banned in India. Whey taslima have to be a refugee in another country.
Your comments shows that you are either a missionary or a terrorists.

da vinci wasnt banned everywhere.. maybe some theatres decided to not show it out of fear of fanatics. but mostly they got away with a Disclaimer at the begining of the movie saying This is a work of fiction.

Lessons?
by Lal on Jun 20, 2008 08:42 PM

What lessons? I thought it was JUST a movie. Like any other movie. Why do people think that its meant to teach us lessons? You watch a movie to escape from your pathetic lives to go and live in a fantasy world for a few hours, that's all. There are no lessons. Movies is not a place to learn lessons, school is. Why is that people watch these stupid, overpaid fake onscreen people and think that they are teaching us something? But, nobody ever says anything good about teachers, who are teaching you real lessons and learning that will help you for the rest of your life.
Is it because when you watch actors they are 50 feet tall? Well, that's because you are stitting in front of a large screen. They are no bigger than you and I. Did you know that? They are no more (mostly less) intelligent than we are. They show us images that does not meet with our values or they take drugs, smoke etc. But as soon as they appear on the big screen we somehow think they are the most wonderful people in the world.
Its either a good movie or a bad movie, that's it.
