That the Toronto show vs. the U.S. shows were sold out need to be seperated.

I think Toronto might not have the bigger Indian population that U.S. may have. If the Toronto show was not sold out, I would clearly expect it. I think Ash and Abhi had their Guru premiere and Abhi proposed to Ash in Toronto, so the stars felt emotional about the place-- and wanted to have the launch show here start-- hit or not. So be it. It's the quality of the fans-- not the quantity- so I'm sure Toronto was a hit!

I was personally at both the Atlantic City and the NYC shows-- and it was sold out!! Tried to get extra tickets-- never could. The show was grand grand grand-- it will set a milestone, clearly. Gosh, I'm still reeling in stunned shock over how fun and grand the shows were.. !!!

Correction: Canada may have a lesser Indian population than the U.S.- so I was comparing city to city. No question The U.S. (at least NJ and NYC) were filled..

Stupid reporting - The show is houseful
by Amar Roy on Aug 11, 2008 01:06 AM

I am startled to read this report in Indian Media. I have been trying to see the show at Atlantic City(NJ) which is all booked. I tried for the New York Show, which is sold out too. The response to this show is so overwhelming that tickets are hard to get. I don't know how some idiots write speculative report sitting in their drawing room. These guys reporting about Toronto may even have to lookup Toronto's spelling before they spell it out.

Srivastava Gets Shafted
by Truth Be Told on Aug 05, 2008 04:12 PM

After all the trumpeting & hyping of his family and some yesteryear stars like Madhuri Nene & Preity Zinta, Srivastava Sr. has indeed delivered a lemon. The Canadian 'duck' will soon be followed by the American 'egg' and finally the European 'lemon'. A lot of people have indeed woken up to the fact that Srivastava Sr. and his clan of flops are not worth spending hard-earned money on!!

While a number of local promoters are trying to salvage the Vancouver show of the Unforgettable Tour fronted by Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan and family, they say unless the price structure changes quickly the show won’t happen on the date scheduled!

SURREY – After nearly losing their shirt doing the Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan and family led the Unforgettable Tour show in Toronto last weekend – the promoters quickly cancelled the Vancouver show on Thursday, leaving many of Big B.’s fans panicking as this might the last time they see him in a live concert setting.
The show had been scheduled for August 17th at General Motors Place but will not happen unless a drastic change in price of the show occurs.
Well known local promoter Kamal Sharma, who had been handling ticket sales for the Vancouver show, was said a drastic reduction in price from the Tour’s management company WizCraft is the only way to save the show. The bottom price that WizCraft will sell the show for is $650,000 but Sharma feels that is still too high and something in the range of $500,000 - $550,000 is what will put the show back on track.

There was a crowd of 8,000 at the Rogers Centre in Toronto for the tour’s opening show. But despite ticket prices ranging from $100 to $260 and VIPs in t

for your information it was cancelled 2 months before the date. Get your facts right before you post.

Every show so far has been a mega-blockbuster, every show sold out! So far it has been the most profitable tour for an indian concert.
