after reading message board i got disappointed abt the movie. Padmakumar who used to come vth good movies, i dont know what happened. His vasthavam was a good movie. it shows the truth abt the hero in negative role. i thought this will also have same shade. but those who watched not really happy it seems. i didnt see the movie any way.
This is not a fan opinion ... I saw the movie in its third day with good expectation that padmakumar did good movies and this also will be good .... But the movie was pathetic.... The 2 star rating itself is too much for the movie...

parunthu is similar to mohal hit devesuram. director padmakumar's earlier film vargam also have the same story line. in vargam, the ruthless cop is attacked by enemies and he becomes a goodman. in parunthu mammooty is ruthless money lender and become good man after he was attacked by his enemies. if mamooty was not there, parunth will have the same fate of vargam
This can happen only in a Malayalam movie, the super star playing a character like a ruthless money lender..without bothering about the image. Just imagine super stars like Rajanikanth, Kamalhassan or anyone else playing these character with a negative shade(Kamal does play these kind of roles, but then he would also act as the other guy who is a gem of a person without any flaws. This is what makes Malayalm movies and their hero's interesting

Please enlighten as to which movie Kamal has acted as a negative character without a double role of a good one as well after he became a superstar? If U R talking about Sivappu Rojakal, then it was before Kamal became a superstar. After wards, he has done negative troles, but then the good guy also is Kamal, so admire whats good in others and dont post just for the sake of posting

Kamal was acted as a Villain in Tamil Alavanthan..in Hindi it was called Abhay..he is done double roles..in this film. this movie is releaese around 2.3 yrs back i think...
